The Cisco IOS IP Routing Protocols Configuration Guide and the Cisco IOS IP Routing Protocols Command Reference books are now divided into the following individual protocol books: BFD, BGP, EIGRP, ISIS, ODR, OSPF, Protocol-Independent, and RIP. Each book will be titled Cisco IOS IP Routing: <protocol> <type of book>; for example, Cisco IOS IP Routing: BFD Configuration Guide. After the new books are published for all release trains, redirects will be added to the old files to ensure that there are no broken links. During the transition period however, the old content may still be displayed.

Optical Networking
The terms "Unidirectional Path Switched Ring" and "UPSR" may appear in Cisco literature. These terms do not refer to using Cisco ONS 15xxx products in a unidirectional-path-switched-ring configuration. Rather, these terms, and "Path Protected Mesh Network" and "PPMN," refer generally to Cisco's Path Protection feature, which may be used in any topological network configuration. Cisco does not recommend using its Path Protection feature in any particular topological network configuration.
