Revised April 19, 1996
April 19, 1996
Dear Cisco Customer:
Thank you again for your recent purchase of our flagship Cisco 7513 router. Recently, Cisco Systems discovered a safety problem that might affect a small percentage of Cisco 7513 AC-input power supplies. Potentially affected are AC-input power supplies shipped between December 5, 1995 and March 21, 1996. If these systems are not fully grounded or have marginal grounds, it is possible for a shock hazard to exist. No incidents have been reported to date. Due to an inability to have 100% certainty of the exact units with the defective power supplies, we will be replacing all units with even the most remote possibility of problems.
Cisco Systems will provide an on-site field engineer to replace all affected Cisco 7513 AC-input power supplies. The replacement must be performed by an authorized Cisco Systems Field Engineer (SE). To make this relatively easy, the SE can perform the replacement without taking your Cisco 7513 off line.
To arrange for a replacement, please contact Cisco Systems On-Site Services (OSS) at (800) 829-2447, (408) 526-8750 or email@example.com. If possible, please have the following information available: quantity of supplies, sales order number for original supplies/systems, ship to information and any other special instructions.
On behalf of Cisco, thank you again for purchasing Cisco's networking expertise and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. As always, we will continue to strive to maintain our high-quality products standards and network services.
Vice President, Quality
Cisco Systems, Inc.
