Field Notice: MeetingPlace Server - All SNMP Traps are Transmitted Labeled as Public

Problem Description

All SNMP traps are sent out labeled as Public. They are sent to the correct location as configured, but the community is incorrectly labeled.

Problem Symptoms

If the SNMP manager verifies the community name in the trap strings, it might reject the trap.





An SNMPD hot fix is available in 5.0.2aa and 5.1.1c. Also apply the 5.0.2ab or 5.1.1d snmpd.conf hot fix to address the unconditional defines of the public community. Contact the Cisco MeetingPlace Technical Assistance Center to apply this hot fix.
