® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Sun Netra 20 server, as sold by Cisco
®, for the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch. The last day to order the Sun Netra 20 server through Cisco Systems is January 26, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 26, 2010. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Sun Netra 20 server. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Sun Netra 240 server, which is Sun Microsystems' replacement for the Netra 20 server. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Sun Netra 20 server to the Sun Netra 240 server.

The recommended replacement for the Sun Netra 20 is the Sun Netra 240 (Table 3). The Sun Netra 240 provides equivalent performance with a smaller form factor compared to the Sun Netra 20.

This notification only addresses the availability of Sun Netra 20 servers procured through and supported by Cisco Systems that are used as host platforms for the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch application software. The Sun Netra 20 servers may continue to be purchased from other sources, including directly from Sun Microsystems or authorized resellers, beyond the dates listed in this notice.
