Original Bulletin Information

Product Bulletin No. 1218

Cisco announces the End-of-Sale for a number of 7200 bundles. The last day to order the affected products is listed in Table 2 below. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Last Date of Support in Table 2 below which describes the End-of-Life milestones and dates for the affected product.
There are cases where the bundles involve products that have not reached End-of-Sale date, or have same or later End-of-Sale date. This is typical since bundles are created for various reasons.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS

The recommended replacement for NPEs above is NPE-G1. The Cisco 7200 NPE-G1 is the most recent addition to the Cisco 7200 Series processor family. The NPE-G1 addresses the demand for performance and flexibility by dramatically increasing processing capacity and enabling unprecedented LAN performance.

• Increases flexible processing to one million packets per second.

• Maximizes LAN performance with three onboard GE/FE ports.

• Doubles scalability by supporting up to 1 GB of DRAM.

• Reduces system cost by eliminating the requirement for an I/O controller.

• Maintains application flexibility and investment protection by supporting existing 7200 features at an unprecedented value.

More information about the Cisco 7200 Network Processing Engine NPE-G1 can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps3931/product_data_sheet09186a00800c6bd6.html.

PRODUCT TMP OPTIONS

Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to: http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein/. The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
