Domino Unified Communications 1.2.4 for
Cisco Readme File
IBM(R) Lotus(R) Domino(TM) Unified Communications (DUC) is a set of software that integrates with Domino and IBM(R) Lotus(R) Notes and Cisco Unity to provide users with access to their voice mail and e-mail through either their Lotus Notes or Domino Web Access client or their telephone. DUC 1.2.4 is supported with Cisco Unity 7.0(2) and Cisco Unity 5.0(1).
For details on operating systems, Domino, and Notes versions supported with DUC 1.2.4, refer to the section “Domino Requirements—Message Store” in:
· System Requirements for Cisco Unity Release 7.x http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/7x/requirements/7xcusysreq.html
· System Requirements for Cisco Unity Release 5.0 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/requirements/50cusysreq.html
NOTE: For Cisco Unity 5.0(1), to use telephone record and playback (TRaP) in Domino Web Access or in the Notes client to listen to or record voice messages, you must install Cisco Unity ES 48 (or a later ES).
For details on operating systems and Notes versions supported with DUC 1.2.4 on client workstations, see the section “Cisco Unity with Domino: Supported Software on Subscriber Workstations Compatibility Matrix:” in Cisco Unity and the Software on Subscriber Workstations http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/compatibility/matrix/cuclientmtx.html.
For information about DUC, including information about what’s new in DUC 1.2.4, see the Domino Unified Communications 1.2.4 Administration Help for Cisco - Installing and Configuring - IBM Lotus Notes, which is available on the DUC 1.2.4 DVD in the file DOC\csUCAdminGuide.nsf.
NOTE: Although the operating systems Windows NT 4.0, AIX 5.1, AIX 5.2 are listed in the “Notes and Domino release support” section in the Domino Unified Communications 1.2.4 Administration Help for Cisco, they are not supported with DUC 1.2.4.
For new installations, in addition to installing DUC 1.2.4, there are several other steps to preparing your Domino servers for use with Cisco Unity. For details, refer to the chapter "Setting Up Domino and Installing Lotus Notes” in the Installation Guide for Cisco Unity Release 5.x with IBM Lotus Domino, available at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/prod_installation_guides_list.html. (For Cisco Unity 7.x, use the Release 5.x versions of guides—all content in the guides applies to Release 7.x)

the setup program to install the client component.
5.
Replace your current Notes mail file
design (see the next section for details).
Refer to Domino
Unified Communications 1.2.4 Administration Help for Cisco for
information on:
·
How to do a silent install of the DUC
client component.
· Troubleshooting silent install.
· Supporting roaming DUC users on a multi-user Notes client.
After installing DUC client component, you must update the design of the
active mail file (for example, MAIL8.NSF) with that of the DUC mail template
installed during DUC client installation (for example, UCMAIL.NTF) before
subscribers can use DUC.
·
From Domino Designer, copy the design elements from
the DUC mail template (for example, ucmail.ntf) to the Notes mail file or mail
template (for example, MAIL8.NTF).
OR
· While active in Notes mail, click File - Application - Replace Design, navigate to the installed DUC mail template, for example UCMAIL8.NTF, select it, and respond as prompted.
If you do not see the menu option File - Application - Replace Design (From “Several advanced menu choices in Notes 8 are not displayed by default” http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21268395):
“Note: The Advanced menus default to ON if all Notes 8 clients are installed: Notes client, Lotus Domino Designer® client, and Domino Administrator client.
If a Notes-Only install is performed, by default the Advanced Menus are not available. However, the following notes.ini parameter can be supplied through a custom desktop policy or via an MST, and this will enable access to Replace and Refresh Design advanced menu actions: "MenusAdvanced=1"
