The 9.0(2) firmware image within the installation program supports the Skinny Client Control Protocol (SCCP) for the following Cisco IP Phone models:
This firmware version is supported on Cisco Unified CallManager Release 7.1.2 and higher.
You need to install the phone firmware as listed below.

The
9.0(2) release adds some new features support in the firmware load. These new
features require support from QED file. Before using the 9.0(2) firmware for
Cisco Unified IP Phone models 6921, 6941 and 6961 with Cisco Unified CallManager release 7.1.2 and higher, you must install the
QED on the Cisco Unified CallManager publisher in the
cluster.
The
9.0(2) QED for the 6921, 6941 and 6961 are listed below.

Before
using the 9.0(2) firmware for Cisco Unified IP Phone models 6921, 6941 and 6961
with Cisco Unified CallManager release 7.1.2 and
higher, you must install the latest firmware on all Cisco Unified CallManager servers in the cluster. To upgrade phones from
a load with 8.5(x), you need to upgrade to unsigned 9.0(2). Please download
unsigned 9.0(2) and refer to unsigned 9.0(2) readme for upgrade.
The
9.0(2) installation programs for the 6921, 6941 and 6961 are listed below.

Perform the following procedure:
Step 1 Go to the following URL: http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/Redirect.x?mdfid=278875240
Step 2 Log in to the Tools and
Resources Download Software page.
Step 3 Choose the IP
Telephony folder by clicking +.
Step 4 Choose IP Phones >
Cisco Unified IP Phones 6900 Series.
Step 5 Choose your phone type.
Step 6 Choose Skinny Client
Control Protocol (SCCP) Software.
Step 7 Choose 9.0(2) under
the Latest Releases folder.
Step 8 Download the files listed in Table 1 and Table 2.
For Cisco Unified CallManager 7.1.2 and higher, you must do all software installations and upgrades by using the Software Upgrades menu options. The system can upload and process only software that Cisco Systems approved.
The Cisco IP Phone Model 6921/6941/6961 Firmware version 9.0(2) is also supplied in a zip file, as an alternative in case a Cisco Unified CallManager is not available to run the executable installer program. The name of this file is cmterm-69xx-sccp.9-0-2-0.zip.
After unzipping the firmware files, they should be manually copied to the appropriate directory on the TFTP server.
