Quad supervisor VSS-implementatie op Catalyst 4500 switches - Configuratievoorbeeld

Inleiding

Dit document beschrijft hoe u het quad Supervisor Virtual Switching System (VSS) kunt configureren op Catalyst 4500. De quad supervisor VSS is al een paar jaar een optie op Catalyst 6500 een paar jaar een geweest, echter deze technologie is nieuw aan Catalyst 4500 en zou niet zoals u gebruikt kunnen uitvoeren.

Het is mogelijk vier supervisors te installeren (2 per elk chassis) en VSS-installatie met een quad-sup te bouwen. Bij een dergelijke opstelling bevat één chassis een supervisor die als VSS Active fungeert en verantwoordelijk is voor het besturingsplane van de hele VSS opstelling, terwijl de andere supervisor op hetzelfde chassis werkt als In-Chassis Standby (ICS). Het tweede chassis bevat één supervisor die als VSS Standby fungeert (dat wil zeggen, supervisor waaraan VSS in geval van actieve mislukking VSS zal failliet gaan) terwijl de andere als ICS handelt.

Quad-sup VSS-gedrag op Catalyst 4500 is afhankelijk van de Cisco IOS XE^® versie die wordt gebruikt. Oorspronkelijk blijven ICS-toezichthouders voor quad-sup VSS-systemen te allen tijde in ROMMON met alle opuplinkpoorten die gegevens kunnen doorsturen. Er bestaat geen automatisch mechanisme dat de ICS automatisch overneemt (dat wil zeggen, vanuit het oogpunt van het bedieningspaneel deelnemen aan VSS) in geval van een storing.

In versie 3.08.00E en later ondersteunt Catalyst 4500 ICS-supervisors in de modus routeprocessorredundantie (RPR) die de quad-sup functionaliteit en failover-gedrag verbetert in het geval van een storing van de toezichthouder, waardoor automatische failover tussen alle toezichthouders mogelijk is in het geval van een storing.

Voorwaarden

Vereisten

Cisco raadt u aan kennis van VSS-technologie te hebben voordat u quad-supervisors installeert.

Om een quad supervisor VSS op de Catalyst 4500 met supervisor 7 op te zetten, moeten uw supervisors Cisco IOS XE versie 3.4.0 of hoger uitvoeren. U moet er ook voor zorgen dat de ROM versie 15.0(1r) SG7 of hoger is.

Om quad supervisor VSS op te zetten met Catalyst 4500 met supervisor 8, moeten uw supervisors Cisco IOS XE versie 3.6.0 of hoger uitvoeren. U moet er ook voor zorgen dat de ROM versie 15.1(1r) SG4 of hoger is.

Om quad supervisor VSS op te stellen met behulp van ICS die op RPR-modus draait, moeten uw supervisors Cisco IOS XE versie 3.8.0 of hoger uitvoeren. U moet er ook voor zorgen dat de ROM versie 15.1(1r)SG6 of hoger is.

Stateful Switching (SSO) redundantie tussen actieve toezichthouders in-chassis vereist ofwel IP-basis of licentieniveau voor ondernemingsservices.

Gebruikte componenten

De informatie in dit document is gebaseerd op twee Catalyst 4507R+E chassis die redundante supervisor 7ES bevatten.

Cisco raadt aan dat uw Virtual Switch Link (VSL) uit redundante verbindingen bestaat. In dit voorbeeld zijn er overtollige 10G banden tussen elke supervisor.

In versie 3.08.00E en eerder ondersteunt Cisco "actieve stand-by" NIET tijdens quad-supervisor VSS. De redundante toezichthouder in elk chassis zal in ROMMON blijven en moet handmatig worden ingericht op mislukking van de primaire supervisor. In versie 03.08.00E en later, zullen ICS-supervisors in RPR-modus zijn.

De informatie in dit document is gebaseerd op de apparaten in een specifieke laboratoriumomgeving. Alle apparaten die in dit document worden beschreven, hadden een opgeschoonde (standaard)configuratie. Als uw netwerk live is, moet u de potentiële impact van elke opdracht begrijpen.

Ondersteuning van asymmetrisch chassis

Catalyst 4500 en Catalyst 4500-X VSS hebben in beide chassis hetzelfde type Supervisor Engine nodig. Het chassis moet hetzelfde aantal slots bevatten, zelfs indien de lijnkaarten verschillen of de slots leeg zijn. Mits het aantal slots in de twee chassismatrijzen in aanmerking komt, kan het chassis van het type verschillen (dat wil zeggen: +E en -E chassis kan in één VSS worden geplaatst).

Configureren

Controleer voordat u start

Om quad supervisor VSS op Catalyst 4500 in te zetten, gebruik supervisor 8 om een paar instellingen te verzekeren:

1. Zorg ervoor dat aan de minimale softwarevereisten is voldaan. Dit voorbeeld toont versie 3.08.01E met ROM versie 15.1(1r)SG6.

2. Zorg ervoor dat de huidige toezichthouders zich in de SSO-redundantiemodus bevinden.

   Opmerking: Er is een minimaal licentieniveau op IP-basis vereist voor de SSO (LAN-basis wordt alleen uitgevoerd in RPR).

3. Zorg ervoor dat de juiste variabele van het laars register is ingesteld om er zeker van te zijn dat de schakelaar zal beginnen zoals verwacht.Cisco raadt 0x2102 aan als de waarde van het configuratieregister. Dit waarborgt dat de schakelaar op de Cisco IOS XE versie die in de laarsverklaring wordt genoteerd start.

Kabelen en configureren

In dit voorbeeld worden vier 10G glasvezelverbindingen tussen elk chassis gebruikt om VSL te vormen. De verbindingen gebruiken de 10G poorten op de toezichthouders.

Opmerking: Er zijn meerdere manieren om deze oplossing te kabelten. Het voorbeeld hier is slechts één mogelijke manier.

Volg deze stappen om de schakelaars te configureren:

1. Stel het virtuele domein in en schakel het nummer op elke switch in. De schakelaar virtuele domeingetallen die op de twee schakelaars worden gevormd moeten identiek zijn.

2. Maak de poortkanalen en voeg de aangesloten links toe. In tegenstelling tot de domeinnummering die eerder wordt weergegeven, MAG de port-kanaalgetallen NIET identiek zijn.

Switches converteren naar Virtual (RPR-modus/3.08.00E en hoger)

1. Bewaar de configuratie op beide switches, die de configuratie op toezichthouders binnen het chassis zal synchroniseren.

Dat veroorzaakt een herbelasting van het chassis. Tijdens het opnieuw laden op het ICS-chassis wordt dit bericht weergegeven en is de console niet langer beschikbaar:

Switches naar virtueel converteren (ROMON-modus / eerder dan versie 3.08.00E)

De switches moeten nu in het VSS worden geconverteerd, maar anders dan een traditionele enkele toezichthouder VSS vereist het proces dat u elke reeks toezichthouders moet voorbereiden.

1. Laad de peer supervisor in elk chassis terug en houd hem in ROMMON.

Opmerking: U moet ervoor zorgen dat u console toegang tot de supervisor hebt en u kunt het laarsproces snel stoppen.

Beide chassis moeten één actieve toezichthouder en één supervisor in de staat van de ROMMON hebben alvorens u verder gaat. Typ vervolgens de virtuele opdracht van de schakelaar converteren om de twee actieve supervisors in VSS om te zetten.

Opmerking: De switchpoorten op de peer supervisors geven actief verkeer door zelfs wanneer de supervisor in een ROMMON staat.

Zodra de toezichthouders zijn omgezet en opnieuw geladen in VSS, is de volgende stap om ze in een ROMMON-staat te plaatsen en de peer supervisors om te zetten in VSS. Aangezien de actieve supervisors in VSS zijn, kunt u slechts één enkel bevel in werking stellen om de volledige plank te herladen. Vergeet niet ze allebei bij ROMMON te stoppen.

Nadat de eerder actieve supervisors bij ROMMON zijn gestopt, start de peer supervisors handmatig op en converteer ze naar VSS.

Zodra de twee toezichthouders zijn gestart en actief zijn, moet u een paar configuratiewijzigingen doorvoeren om ervoor te zorgen dat de nieuwe toezichthouders zich bij de VSS aansluiten. Onthoud dat de peer supervisors opnieuw geladen werden voor de conversie naar VSS, zodat zij sommige van de configuratie niet kunnen ontleden na het laden. De veiligste manier om ervoor te zorgen dat alle configuratie wordt toegepast, is om de eerder uitgevoerde stappen te herhalen. Het kan ook noodzakelijk zijn de interfaces in de standaardinstelling te brengen voordat u het poortkanaal opnieuw instelt.

Rebooting the switch

Als de toezichthouders eenmaal herladen, moeten ze nu in het VSS-systeem inbouwen. U dient nu twee actieve supervisors en twee toezichthouders te hebben die in ROMMON zitten en een handmatige start afwachten. Peer supervisors blijven in ROMMON en moeten handmatig worden opgestart om het controle-vliegtuigverkeer te accepteren.

Problemen oplossen

Er is momenteel geen specifieke troubleshooting-informatie beschikbaar voor deze configuratie.
