Dit document beschrijft het gebruik van Flexible Algorithm (Flex-Algo) om een IS-IS-domein logisch in meerdere netwerksegmenten te verdelen. Elk segment kan zijn eigen regels en beperkingen voor de berekening van het pad definiëren, waardoor een gedifferentieerde behandeling van verkeersstromen mogelijk wordt op basis van SLA-vereisten of verkeersgevoeligheid.
