The Cisco Wireless Control System Navigator is hereafter referred to as Cisco WCS Navigator.

Introduction
The Cisco WCS Navigator manages multiple Cisco WCSs (running the same release as Navigator) and provides a unified view of the network. It uses SOAP/XML over HTTPs to communicate with individual WCSs. Navigator provides monitoring functionality and reporting capability across all WCSs. In addition, network-wide searches are available. In Windows and Linux, Cisco WCS Navigator runs as a service continuously and resumes running after a reboot.
Cisco WCS Navigator delivers an aggregated platform for enhanced scalability, manageability, and visibility of large-scale implementations of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network. This software-based solution gives network administrators easy access to information from multiple geographically diverse Cisco WCS management platforms. It supports partitioning of the unified wireless network at the management level.
Cisco WCS Navigator Features
The Cisco WCS Navigator provides:
•Management of multiple Cisco WCSs
–Supports up to 20 Cisco WCS management platforms
–Management of up to 30,000 Cisco Aironet lightweight access points from a single management console
•A unified view of the network
•Overview and multilevel monitoring of wireless networks
•The ability to run reports for all WCSs
•Network-wide searches
•A link to return to the Navigator when directed to a regional WCS from Navigator
Requirements for Cisco WCS Navigator
Hardware Requirements for Navigator
The following server hardware and software is required to support Cisco WCS Navigator for Windows or Linux.
•Supports up to 20 wireless control systems depending on the Navigator license.
•A 3.2 GHz Intel Dual Core processor with 4 GB of RAM and an 80-GB hard drive.
•A 40-GB minimum of available disk space on your hard drive.
Note The available disk space listed is a minimum requirement but may be different for your system depending on the number of backups.
Note The screen resolution should be set to 1024 x 768 pixels for Navigator.
Supported Operating Systems
The following operating systems are supported:
–Windows 2003/SP2 or later with all critical and security Windows updates installed. 64-bit installations are not supported.
–Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server 5.0. Only 32-bit operating system installations are supported. 64-bit operating system installations are not supported.
–Windows 2003 and Redhat Linux version support on VmWare ESX 3.0.1 version and above.
Note VmWare must be installed on a system with these minimum requirements:
Quad CPU running at 3.16 GHz
8 GBs RAM
200 GB hard drive
Note The Cisco WCS Navigator supports both Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0.
Important Notes
WCS and Navigator Compatibility
WCS and Navigator must be from the same release in order to be compatible (see Table 1). Although the release numbers will not be the same, you must verify whether they were part of the same release.
For example, Navigator 1.0 is compatible with WCS 4.1, and Navigator 1.1.x is compatible with any WCS 4.2.x.
Japanese Microsoft Windows Support
This release adds support for the use of Cisco WCS Navigator on a server running the Japanese version of Microsoft Windows. Cisco Navigator will run in English.
Flash Player Software Version 9.0.115.0
Flash Player software 9.0.115.0 is required for the full WCS benefit.
Caveats
This section lists Open Caveats and Resolved Caveats for this software release.
Open Caveats
These caveats are open in Cisco WCS Navigator 1.1.81.0:
•CSCsi04593—The Monitor Network summary page has an incorrect graph.
Workaround: After a refresh, the graphs works fine.
•CSCsi31663—Accessing the wireless control system pages from Navigator results in a prompt stating that http is not enabled and that user must click the designated link to use https.
Workaround: Under Configure > WCS within the affected wireless control system, change the protocol to https.
•CSCsm94015—This occurs when auto-refresh setup is enabled and the left pane (which shows the search features and calendar-style alert window) is hidden. If any of the alert counts change and a refresh occurs, the left pane reappears automatically.
Workaround: None at this time.
•CSCso23410—Inventory objects still show up in reports when a WCS is deleted.
Workaround: If possible, re-add the previously deleted WCS and delete it again.
Resolved Caveats
This caveat is resolved in Cisco WCS Navigator 1.1.81.0:
•CSCsi24635—When a WCS on Navigator becomes unreachable, a WCS alarm appears on the alarm dashboard. Clicking the alarm opens the Alarm Details page. Clicking the link to the events history produces an unknown exception.
•CSCsi59575—Because of formatting issues in some of the columns, when the report is viewed in an Excel format, values point to the wrong column for some lines.
•CSCsk14508 and CSCsk17233—WCS and Navigator must be on the same release in order to be compatible.
•CSCsk94951—The alarm status icon is incorrect. It shows as green when an alarm is critical.
•CSCsm40064—When Rogue AP Count is clicked and after a long wait, Navigator displays the following error: Following WCS(s) were not searched since they had errors while searching. Error on WCS-wcs : ; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out.
•CSCsm42692—The RSSI sorting field does not return expected results.
•CSCsm94020—Navigator client statistics displays inaccurate data on the home page.
