The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. For the purposes of this documentation set, bias-free is defined as language that does not imply discrimination based on age, disability, gender, racial identity, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and intersectionality. Exceptions may be present in the documentation due to language that is hardcoded in the user interfaces of the product software, language used based on RFP documentation, or language that is used by a referenced third-party product. Configuring Alerts for Your Custom Profile
Configuring Alerts for Your Custom Profile
To make monitoring easy, you can configure Smart Call Home to detect alerts of a specific category.
On the Alerts tab, choose the alert group to which you want to subscribe. When an event occurs in the alert group that you subscribed to, your device is monitored to obtain more information about the event, at the time of the event, and the output is included in the Smart Call Home message that is sent to Cisco and other configured recipients.
You can subscribe to multiple alert groups. To subscribe to Diagnostic, Environment, Syslog, and Crash alert groups, and set the same severity level for all the alerts, select All. From the Severity drop-down list, choose the severity threshold based on which to filter messages in the alert group.
To subscribe to only one, or a few of the Smart Call Home alert groups, select the check box for the alert group you want. From the Severity drop-down list, choose the severity threshold based on which to filter messages in the alert group.
When you subscribe to the Syslog alert group, you can optionally specify a text pattern to be matched within each syslog message. Click + to add a design pattern. If you configure a pattern, a Syslog alert group message is sent only if it contains the specified pattern and meets the severity threshold.
When you subscribe to the Configuration, Inventory, and Snapshot alert groups, you can choose to receive the alert group messages asynchronously or periodically at a specified time. For the Snapshot alert group, you can only choose to receive the alert group messages periodically. You can configure the time when alerts are sent, in the following way:
Daily—Specify the time of day, using an hour:minute format hh:mm, with a 24-hour clock (for example, 14:30).
Hourly—Specify the minute of the hour, from 0 to 59. This option is available for the Snapshot alert group.
Interval—Specify the interval of minutes, from 1 to 60. This option is available for the Snapshot alert group.
Weekly—Specify the day of the week and time of day in the format day hh:mm, where the day of the week is spelled out (for example, Monday).
Monthly—Specify the numeric date, from 1 to 31, and the time of day, in the format date hh:mm.
As part of the snapshot, you can periodically record command line interface (CLI) command output. The output is included in the smart call home notification sent to you.
