User settings allows the user to change the username and password of the device. It is very important for the administrator to have a strong password to protect the device from being misused. Refer to the article Configure Password Complexity on the CVR100W VPN Router for details on password complexity. This article explains how to configure user settings on the CVR100W VPN router.
Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > User. The User page opens:
Step 2. In the New Username field, enter the new username.
Step 3. In the Old Password field, enter the current password.
Step 4. In the New Password field, enter the new desired password.
Step 5. (Optional) To make the password entered unreadable, check the Hide Password check box.
Step 6. (Optional) To have no password for the device, check the Blank Password check box.
Note: The Password Strength Meter shows the strength of the new password.
Step 7. (Optional) To disable the password complexity requirement for the new password, check the Disable Password Strength Enforcement check box.

Step 8. Click Save.
