Bias-Free Language

In an effort to offer the most up-to-date, high-performing, feature-rich, midrange router security bundles, Cisco Systems® is making Cisco VPN Acceleration Module 2+ (VAM2+) router security bundles available on Cisco 7200 Series and Cisco 7301 routers. Bundle part numbers are listed in Table 1. Bundles include Cisco IOS® Software with the IP Security (IPSec), firewall, and intrusion detection system (IDS) feature set.

With the addition of the VAM2+ security bundles, Cisco is also announcing the end of life of two Cisco 7200 Series NPE-225 VPN bundles. The last day to order these bundles is July 29, 2005. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until otherwise specified by a component-specific end-of-life announcement. This announcement refers only to the bundling of the components. Table 2 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates. Table 3 lists the product numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to any of the current Cisco 7200 Series or Cisco 7301 security bundles, which provide improved performance and scalability for security services.

The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
Any of the current Cisco 7200 Series or Cisco 7301 router security bundles are recommended replacements for the two Cisco 7200 NPE-225 security bundles listed in Table 3.
