Bias-Free Language
The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco ACE Application Control Engine ACE20 Module. The last day to order the affected product(s) is March 1, 2012. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1.
Cisco sales teams and channel partners are encouraged to transition their Cisco ACE20 module sales from their current ACE20 installed base to the Cisco ACE30 module. The Cisco ACE30 is one of the most advanced application switching devices in the industry. It offers a larger set of functionality and superior performance benefits than the ACE20. In addition to Layer 4 load balancing, Layer 7 content switching, SSL offloading, virtual devices, role-based administration, management through the Cisco Application Networking Manager 4.x, and the command-line interface, the Cisco ACE30 offers advanced features like HTTP compression and dynamic workload scaling. The ACE30 has twice the maximum SSL TPS performance at 30,000 transactions per second and 50 percent more Layer 4 connections per second than the ACE20. Similar to the ACE20, the ACE30 is available as a fully integrated solution with the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series or Cisco 7600 Series.

The Cisco ACE30 offers maximum limits of SSL offloading capability (up to 30,000 SSL transactions per second), virtualization (up to 250 virtual devices), and HTTP compression (up to 6 Gbps and limited by the throughput license) at all throughput license levels of 4 Gbps, 8 Gbps, and 16 Gbps. There is software-license-based scalability between the throughput license levels, ensuring investment protection.
