April 13, 2015 - Cisco has acquired Embrane, a provider of a lifecycle management platform for application-centric network services including firewalls (FW), virtual private networks (VPNs), load balancers (LB) and SSL offload engines.
As Cisco continues to move towards a future of virtualization and automation, the unique skillset and talent of the Embrane team, combined with Cisco's engineering expertise, will further extend the Nexus product footprint and Application Centric Infrastructure.
