Notes on 12,000 user VM configurations

(top)

Limits:

  • 12,000 IP phones
  • 2,500 analog phones
  • 1,200 roaming phones (per Emergency Responder cluster)
  • 500 LAN switches
  • 30,000 switch ports
  • 3,000 ERLs

Notes on 20,000 user VM configurations

(top)

The 20,000 user VM configuration with one vcpu may exhibit performance issues during CPU/IO-intensive operations (such as installs, upgrades, backups), or if your deployment has certain characteristics. Changing the VM config to 2 vcpu is recommended as a prevention strategy. Otherwise you may deploy with one vcpu and be TAC-supported, but note that if the root cause of performance issues is found to be insufficient vcpu, Cisco TAC will ask that you change this to 2 vcpu. If your deployment is not experiencing any issues you are not required to change to 2 vCPU and may remain on 1 vCPU.

  • 20,000 IP phones
  • 5,000 analog phones
  • 2,000 roaming phones (per Emergency Responder cluster)
  • 1,000 LAN switches
  • 60,000 switch ports
  • 7,5000 ERLs

Notes on 30,000 user VM configurations

(top)

Limits

  • 30,000 IP phones
  • 10,000 analog phones
  • 3,000 roaming phones (per Emergency Responder cluster)
  • 2,000 LAN switches
  • 120,000 switch ports
  • 10,000 ERLs

Notes on 40,000 user VM configurations

(top)

Limits

  • 40,000 IP phones (15,000 Phone lines per UCM node in the cluster)
  • 12,500 analog phones
  • 4,000 roaming phones (per Emergency Responder cluster)
  • 2,500 LAN switches
  • 150,000 switch ports
  • 12,500 ERLs
  • 12,500 IP Subnets (from 15 SU1, total combined of IPv4 + IPv6 Subnets)

IOPS and Storage System Performance Requirements

(top)

This section provides the IOPS Data for a Cisco Emergency Responder System under Load. These tests use published OVA template for Cisco Emergency Responder.

  • Major Discovery: IOPS value of 66.
  • Export/Import: IOPS value of 325.
  • DRS Backup/Restore: During a backup, the value is 29. During a restore, it reaches 1000 IOPS.
  • Upgrade: IOPS Value is 4.5.
