This
window displays the radio interface configuration and
statistics.
Software Status
Indicates whether the interface has
been enabled or disabled by the operator.
Hardware Status
Indicates whether the line protocol
for the interface is up or down. Normally, if the Software
Status is enabled, the Hardware Status is up. An error
condition occurs if the Software Status is enabled and
the Hardware Status is down.
Operational
Rates
The data rates (expressed in megabits
per second) the device uses for data transmission. The
device always attempts to transmit at the highest rate
selected. If obstacles or interference occur, the device
steps down to the highest rate that enables data transmission.
Basic Rate
Enables transmission at this rate for
all packets, both unicast and multicast. At least one
data rate must be set as a basic rate.
Aironet Extensions
If compatibility with non-Cisco/Aironet
products is required, deselect Aironet Extensions.
Disabling this option limits several advanced features
of the access point, such as load balancing, MIC, and
TKIP.
Carrier
Set
Indicates the regulatory domain on
which the access point is operating. The carriers sets
constrain the frequencies and power levels available.
Some of the following regulatory domains can be indicated:
Americas, EMEA (European Union), Israel, Japan, and
China.
Current
Radio Channel
The current channel and frequency of
the 802.11b, 802.11a, or 802.11g radio.
Transmitter
Power
The power level of the radio transmission.
The default power setting is the highest transmit power
allowed in your regulatory domain.
Role in Network
The access point can operate as an
Access Point (Root) or as a Repeater (Non-Root). When
operating as an Access Point (Root), it bridges wireless
traffic to the wired LAN. When operating as a Repeater
(Non-Root), it bridges wireless traffic to an access
point that is connected to the wired LAN. The repeater
is placed within range of an access point connected
to the wired LAN. This placement extends the range of
your infrastructure.
Current Parent (repeater mode
only)
The IP address of the current parent
for this repeater.
