New Cisco stand location in the Connected World.
This year Cisco has moved to the Connected World in hall 13. Visit Cisco stand 13.197 to find out how to bring new levels of interactivity, personalization, and profitability to your content.
Videoscape is Cisco's new cloud-centric video and services platform that enables service providers to deliver the next generation of TV entertainment.
Our Videoscape demo at IBC will show how content can be delivered free from the traditional bounds of time, place, and platform, bringing it to viewers anytime, anywhere, over any screen. It does so while guaranteeing the quality of experience consumers expect, delivered with full protection, and opening new opportunities for monetization.
We'll be demonstrating integration of linear, on-demand and over-the-top content with our Videoscape Control Suite- a full life cycle content management system for managed and unmanaged devices including Cisco set-top boxes (STBs), Cisco soft clients (PCs), Internet TVs, tablets and smart phones, and the second-screen experiences those unmanaged devices enable. We will also showcase media distribution within and outside of the home with our Videoscape Media Gateway family of products, and Videoscape Conductor, a standards-based real-time network and device management tool for service providers.
Incorporating scalable computing resources, storage, and virtualization, Cisco will demonstrate Videoscape Quickstart a comprehensive end-to-end solution for video delivery. Focusing attention on the complex logistics required for "TV Everywhere", Cisco's demonstration will focus on content ingest, transformation, delivery, monetization as applied within the Videoscape Architectural Platform for Content and Service Providers.
We will demonstrate how the Cisco Video-over-DOCSIS 3.0 solution (RF Gateway Series, CMTS) can provide various levels of Quality of Service (QoS) for Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) video delivery based on the Cable Operator's service policies.
The Cisco Video-over-DOCSIS 3.0 solution is purpose-built to deliver managed IP video services with guaranteed QoS, and enables cable operators to dynamically allocate their DOCSIS network resources based on their unique service policies in order to maximize the quality of experience for their subscribers.
The IP contribution panel will demonstrate how to achieve lossless transport of high-quality video over IP using the Cisco Digital Content Manager (DCM). The demonstration will show how the DCM acts as an advanced video gateway for contribution purposes:
Multiformat: SD and HD, as well as 3G-HD-SDI and 3D-HD-SDI, video simultaneously streamed over the platform
Multichannel: Multiple streams simultaneously transmitted and received over IP (and optionally over legacy ASI interface)
Full flexibility: Platform simultaneously deployed as a video adapter (uncompressed transport of SDI video) as well as video codec (JPEG2000 compressed transport of SDI video), and the number of ports and various software options separately licensable
Lossless transport: Uses live-live capability within the network and the hitless merge capability of the DCM
Very low latency: Ideal for two-way interviews and other latency-critical applications
Set-Top Box Ecosystems
Cisco will be demonstrating Mediaroom 2.0 on IP set-top boxes with Instant Channel Change, fast video-on-demand (VOD) and electronic-program-guides (EPG ) search, series recoding, and whole home digital video recorder (DVR) already existent on Microsoft.
The MediaRoom 2.0 solution showcases more features such as:
Ability to pause live TV on non-DVR boxes
Easy-to-use Presentation Framework to build third-party applications
The demonstration will include:
New Cisco ISB2000 series DVR and non-DVR model
Next-generation ISB7005 with integrated wireless client (VEN402) and access point (VEN401)
This solution provides subscribers with unlimited, uninhibited flexibility to place their TVs at virtually any power outlet inside or outside their homes from a central wireless access point located within homes.
Cisco will be demonstrating VirginMedia TiVo set top box (STB) with:
Hard Disk Drive Up to 1 terabyte (TB), or 500 hours of recordings
Ability to undo accidental deletion of recordings
Wish list: automatic recordings of your favorite series
Search for on-demand library
Recording of three channels while watching a fourth channel
Remote recording by mobile phone
Apps: Twitter, YouTube, eBay, iPlayer
Cisco will be demonstrating Wyplay set top box (STB), which offers:
