Cisco has Completed its Acquisition of Intucell
Acquisition Advances Cisco's Service Provider Mobile Network Leadership.
On February 25, 2013 Cisco completed its acquisition of privately held Intucell. Headquartered in Ra'anana, Israel, Intucell provides advanced self-optimizing network (SON) software, which enables mobile carriers to plan, configure, manage, optimize and heal cellular networks automatically, according to real-time changing network demands. The acquisition of Intucell enhances Cisco's commitment to global service providers by adding a critical network intelligence layer to manage and optimize spectrum, coverage and capacity, and ultimately the mobile experience.
This acquisition exemplifies Cisco's innovation framework and supports Cisco's five foundational priorities to lead the market in networking across all customer segments. The acquisition is well-aligned to Cisco's goals of developing and delivering innovative network and software technologies.
Additionally, on Tuesday, February 19, Cisco announced its Mobile Internet Solutions Portfolio showcasing Cisco Quantum, Cisco's new software platform consisting of network intelligence functions that gather, process and facilitate programmability into networks. The Quantum software suite lets mobile operators immediately access that moving data, analyze it, and use it to offer services that their subscribers and other businesses are willing to pay for. The new Quantum software suite will be showcased by Cisco and Intucell at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Feb 25 - 28 and should serve to drive immediate awareness for this new portfolio of solutions.
