Lost City Golf Course, Sun City
This dramatic golf course is carved out of the wild African bush. It hosts various water hazards, none more famous than the crocodile hole at the par 3, 13th hole. 18 holes, par-72, length varies considerably depending on which tees are used. The course opened in 1993 and is a product of the Gary Player Design Company. There are undulating bayview grass fairways and large bent grass greens.
There are also many waste bunkers and several water hazards with magnificent views of the Pilanesberg and African Bushveld, as well as the famous Palace Hotel situated next to the course. This Gary Player designed course offers a championship level of challenge par none.

David Meads, Country Managing Director, South Africa, Cisco
David is the Country Managing Director for Cisco Systems South Africa having taken on the role in February 2010.
He is living in Johannesburg with his wife and two teenage sons, having relocated from the UK in March 2010.
Prior to this position, David worked for Cisco in the UK where, since 2006, he ran firstly the UK Commercial business and thereafter the Financial Services business whilst also working as Cisco’s Executive Sponsor for Corporate Social Responsibility in the UK and Ireland.
This is David’s second career with Cisco, having originally joined in 1996 as an Account Manager, quickly moving on to manage sales teams in Enterprise until leaving in 2001.
Between 2001 and re-joining Cisco in 2006, he worked as Sales Director for Cisco’s then largest UK Gold partner, Siemens Network Systems.
His current assignment takes him through to August 2012 and during which time he hopes to build a business that can continue to work successfully with Cisco’s partners and customers both in the private and public sector to accelerate technology transformation for the greater benefit of South Africa and its citizens.

Den Sullivan, Head of Architectures and Enterprise, Emerging Markets, Cisco
Den is responsible for helping customers in 84 countries align their business priorities with their IT strategies. His role is to demonstrate how an architectural approach to IT can help businesses thrive in a world where people want to share rich media with anyone, anywhere, on any device, at any time – securely, reliably, and seamlessly.
Prior to his role as Head of Architectures and Enterprise for Emerging Markets, he was CIO for a sales region that spanned Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Under his leadership, the IT Group made significant investment to support tremendous growth in the region. This meant transforming the organisation’s foundational infrastructure while providing a portfolio of new capabilities such as Telepresence, and additional video and collaboration technologies.
Den joined Cisco, and the IT Architecture Group, in 2000. He was responsible for several large-scale advanced technology programmes including the initial portfolio of Virtual Private Networks, Wireless and IP Telephony services. In 2003 he managed the transition of the European, Middle East and Africa WAN to a Multicast MPLS network, the first of its kind globally.
Prior to joining Cisco, Den held a number of management positions in utilities, public sector and consulting. He has an MBA from London Business School.
Den lives in Dubai with his young family and has run the London Marathon on ten occasions.

From 1996 to 2001 Robbie was Chief Executive of Powertech, one of South Africa’s largest power electronics and infrastructure companies.
In 2001, Dr Bill Venter appointed Robbie as his successor and he became Chief Executive of Altron, a position he still holds today.
Since his appointment as Chief Executive of Altron, he has streamlined the number of listed entry points into the group from nine to just Altron and Altech. This was achieved by buying out the minorities in a number of listed entities.
His own focus is on “creating the best and largest South African controlled ICT group which offers high-tech products and services of quality to global markets; one that generates profits through outstanding customer care and is dedicated to technological innovation.”

Arnab Basu, Product Manager, Unified Computing System
Arnab Basu has spent over a decade architecting and evangelizing data center technologies. His most recent areas of interest are I/O virtualization and storage technologies. Within the UCS product line, Arnab is responsible for the server I/O and OS/hypervisor focused innovations. Before joining the UCS team, Arnab worked at Brocade where he held a variety of roles, first in development as ASIC architect of Brocade’s 1st generation FCoE products and then as product manager responsible for blade server switches. Prior to Brocade, Arnab was at NetContinuum an application security start up that was acquired by Barracuda networks. Arnab holds a M.S in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas, Austin and a M.B.A from University of California, Berkeley.

Ahmed Etman, Senior Manager, Borderless Networks Sales Emerging Markets Cisco Systems
Ahmed Etman is the Borderless Networks lead for Emerging Markets, responsible for business development and product sales. The Borderless Networks architecture comprises of Routing, Switching, Security, Mobility and WAN Acceleration technologies.
Ahmed joined Cisco in 2006 as a Business Development Manager for security technologies, part of the Central Security team responsible for EMEA. Since then, Ahmed has managed various businesses in Cisco include Advanced Technologies as well as various Emerging Technologies businesses.
Ahmed comes from a strong security background, as before joining Cisco, he held various positions at Internet Security Systems (now part of IBM), where he served as Technical Manager as well as being responsible for setting up the ISS operations in the Middle East and Africa region.

Allan M. Bjornstad, Director, Emerging Collaboration Partners
Allan has over 20 years of experience within the IT and Telecommunications sector, 15 of which have been with TANDBERG/Cisco. Prior to his role as Director Emerging Collaboration Partners for Cisco, Allan held the leading positions in TANDBERG as Vice President Business Development EMEA and CTO EMEA with responsibilities for product support, services, alliances, and training. Allan is a frequent industry spokesperson and is famous for the energy he gives in his presentations.

Arthur Seesink, IPNGN Technical Solutions Architect
Arthur is a Technical Solution Architect at Cisco and focuses on Service Provider IPNGN solutions and architectures. He joined Cisco in 1995 and during the years he has worked as a Consultant systems engineer in various markets segments covering mainly routing and Switching products, architectures and solutions. For the last 4 years he has been the IPNGN technical solutions architect for Cisco in Emerging Markets. He holds a honours degree in Computer Science and is a qualified CCIE with a very good understanding of the current markets demands and dynamics. He has a very good understanding of Cisco’s product porfolio and combines that knowledge and understanding with the Service Provider IPNGN architecture play.

Cassie Bezuidenhout, Consulting Systems Engineer
Cassie Bezuidenhout is a Consulting System Engineer within Cisco’s focusing on Transport Technologies, including Optical and Carrier Ethernet Architectures and Designs for both Service Provider and Enterprise Networks. Prior to joining Cisco, Cassie was a Advisory Consultant Designing, Maintaining and Operating IP/MPLS networks at Business Connexion South Africa. Currently he is in close contact with the Optical Transport and Carrier Ethernet Business Units within Cisco and contributes as an advisory on Hardware and Software features required for any future releases.
Cassie achieved his CCIE in 2003, and since then have been involved in large scale deployments of Next Generation networks and designs.

Chris Lewis, System Manager
Chris Lewis brings more than 25 years experience in the computer networking industry to his role as System Manager in the Core Technologies Group at Cisco. In this position Mr. Lewis is responsible for defining and managing systems strategy and development at Cisco.
Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Lewis worked as Vice President of International Operations at Thomson Financial, responsible for international network operations and held several posts in engineering at Reuters. He is the author of three books on networking, two published by McGraw Hill and one by Cisco Press.
Mr. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Brunel University in England, a Master of Business Administration degree from City University in London and is CCIE #16364

Craig Sanderson, Product Manager - Medianet
Craig have worked at Cisco for 15 years working in a number of positions. Currently he is a product manager for the medianet program, responsible for the Media Services Interface (MSI) SDK that has been integrated into Cisco Rich Media endpoints. Before working on medianet, he was a product manager specializing in UC Security and before that spent 9 years as systems and Consulting systems engineer in Cisco UK specializing in Video and Security.

Edward Agostinho, Consulting Systems Engineer
Edward Agostinho is currently a Consulting Systems Engineer within Cisco's Emerging Technology Group focusing on Physical Security for Emerging Markets Central and East. Edward has been working in the IT industry for 22 years now and has spent most of his career in the Safety and Security market in South Africa where he has designed, implemented and improved networks of the Department of Defense, South African Police Service, Department of Corrections and others. Edward holds a Cisco CCIE and CCVP certification amongst others and has also achieved many third party certifications such as Microsoft's MCSE. Edward also has expertise in Cisco's Unified Communications portfolio. His most recent project was to design secure mobile and static Command and Control environments for the SA Police for the Soccer World Cup 2010 held in South Africa.

Erik Lenten, Product Manager VXI
Erik Lenten is Cisco’s Product Manager for Virtual Experience Infrastructure (VXI). Erik has been working for Cisco for the past 13 years in various roles. Today Erik is responsible for product definition and roadmaps for Cisco’s VXI solutions and definition of Cisco’s Validated Designs for VXI. Erik gained a lot of real world experience in deploying cloud based virtual workspaces by offering consultative support to Cisco’s largest accounts. Erik is an experienced speaker at international conferences such as Cisco Live. Erik holds a CCIE Security certification and lives in Amsterdam.

Gilles Chekroun, Distinguished Systems Engineer
Gilles joined Cisco 17 years ago. His background is linked to IBM Mainframe networking technologies and he started at Cisco as a Network Design Engineer.
Later on, Gilles joined the EMEA Consulting group in the IBM team and led many projects in the financial sector.
For the last nine years, Gilles focus was Storage, SAN extension technologies for designing and implementing Disaster Recovery Centers.
He is now dedicated to Data Center Technologies like Unified Fabric, FCoE and Unified Computing System.
He is a member of the Cisco Emerging Markets Solutions and Architecture Team.
Gilles is in the Board of Directors of SNIA Europe (Storage Networking Industry Association) as Technical Chair.

Holger Unterbrink, Consulting System Engineer
Holger Unterbrink is a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) for Cisco’s Borderless Networks - Security. Holger is responsible for driving Cisco’s Security Vision and Architecture into the Technical Community throughout EMEA. Holger has over 15 years of IT experience and has been with Cisco for 11 years in various roles from doing penetration tests to supporting enterprise customers in large security projects. Holger lives in Germany.

Jamie Dewar, Cisco WebEx Sales Manager Emerging Markets
Jamie is a 12 year Cisco veteran who has recently moved to manage Sales for Cisco WebEx Software as a Service (SAAS) in Emerging Markets. Prior to that position he ran the Channel for 2 and a half years again for Cisco WebEx SAAS in a larger Emerging Market including LATAM and Central and Eastern Europe. During that time a considerable amount of his time was spent in South Africa working with SP's and Cisco partners in training, selling and supporting Cisco WebEx solutions.
He has been based in Dubai UAE for the last 6 years in roles building Cisco based managed services with Service Providers across the Middle East and driving growth across the SMB sector as well.
For the previous 6 years he was based in Cisco Scotland mainly selling into the Oil & Gas sector in Aberdeen as well as: Service Provider, Large Enterprises and Business Development roles.

Kian spent 8 years in Europe architecting and building European Mobile networks and more recently has been based in South Africa as part of the Emerging Markets team. Kian’s current focus is leading Service Provider Cloud based initiatives across the region driving this new market for Cisco.
Kian holds two bachelor degrees in Electronic Engineering and Physics/Chemistry.

Marcel Kardol, Sales Lead Hosted Collaboration Solutions Emerging Markets
Marcel Kardol joined Cisco in May 2011 to lead the Hosted Collaboration Services sales efforts in Emerging Markets, and is based in Dubai, UAE. Prior to Cisco, Marcel was Managing director EMEA for Ensim Corporation, a USA based vendor of an OSS/BSS solution for a wide range of hosted applications, primarily selling into the large telecom service providers and leading hosting companies across EMEA. He joined Ensim after a 7 year executive career in global marketing, sales and product management roles for VIA NET.WORKS, an international ISP with 26 operations in 15 countries which acquired the e-commerce and webdesign agency he founded in 1994.

Miguel Conesa, Solutions Architect
Miguel Conesa has over 15+ years of Global SP consulting experience with SP customers ( Americas, Europe, Emerging,), leading Global Strategic engagements (USD 10 million plus-services revenue) ranging from Pre-Sales RFP, Advisory, Solution architecture, service delivery and operational excellence in SP-Voice and SP-Mobile technologies.
As Solution architect for SP Mobile Solutions is leading cross-functional projects with network solution planning, design and implementation expertise in a consulting environment; business value justification, solution architecture & integration, creating white papers and leading practices.
Miguel holds a MS degree in Telecommunication engineering and CCIE R&S( 6289). He speaks fluently five languages (Spanish, English, Italian, Portuguese and French).

Nico de Louwere, Consulting Systems Engineer, Africa Levant
Nico de Louwere is a consulting systems engineer in Management Software and Procedures for Africa Levant, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Russia. He has been working in this role for the past 13 years in different regions. He started his career with Cisco in the Netherlands where he helped large service providers like BT and Telefónica with their software requirements and scalabilities. In the period with Cisco he has been working with standards body's (like the IETF) on standards for device instrumentation, SNMP and Performance information. He also has been active in the IETF with the same subjects. He holds certifications in both ITIL and IETF.

Patrice ROBERT Consulting Systems Engineer - Security - Cisco Systems
Patrice ROBERT is a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) for Cisco’s Borderless Networks - Security. Patrice is based in the middle-east and responsible into developing the technical knowledge around Cisco Security.
Patrice joined IronPort Systems in 2003 and took care of southern europe, middle-east and africa. Cisco acquired IronPort in June 2007. Prior to IronPort, Patrice had developed his security and sales skills in different companies like Network Appliance (around the NetCache product), Wanadoo (french ISP of France Telecom) and also for the United Arab Emirates Air Force. Patrice lives in Abu dhabi with his wife.

Paulo Jorge Correia, Technical Solutions Architect
Paulo Jorge Correia has a degree in Systems and Computer Science Engineering from the University of Braga in Portugal.
More than 15 years’ experience in networking & telecommunication industry. He is currently a Technical Solutions Architect in the Central Consulting team for EMEAR, focusing on collaboration. Paulo Jorge Correia is a frequent speaker at events such as Networkers, Cisco Expos, etc.

Pavel Dvorak
Pavel Dvorak has joined Cisco Systems in 1995 as one of the first SEs in Central & Eastern Europe. Over last 10 years, he has focused on Service Provider business, covering Incumbent, Mobile and Challenger segments.
Since 2005 has joined Global Mobile Vertical organization where as CSE was focused on Cisco Mobile solutions and products. Since 2008 as part of the Emerging Markets and since 2011 EMEA SP Solutions Architectures teams with focus on SP Data Center Solutions Architectures and Data Center Managed/Cloud Services.
Pavel owns a Master in Data Communications from Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic.

Peter Gaspar, Consulting System Engineer, Service Provider, Emerging Theater
Peter Gaspar - Previous to Cisco (joined in January 2007) worked for mobile operators and service providers in Slovakia and Austria. Since 2003 focuses on IP services and infrastructure for mobile operators. In Cisco, holds a position of consulting system engineer for mobile technologies (Packet Core, SIGTRAN, MPLS Core, RAN aggregation, WiMax, Femto, IPv6 etc.) in the Emerging Markets region.

Philippe Perin, Cisco Consulting System Engineer
I have more than 15 years working in the telephony high value applications arena, like Contact Center, Unified Communication and Service Provide Intelligent Network.
I was part of the system architecture team in charge of designing Telecommunication Satellite system for Alcatel and then the Open Call Service Control Point platform for Hewlett Packard in Grenoble.
I am currently working for Cisco Systems as a central Consulting System Engineer focusing on Contact Center technology, addressing major opportunity all over Emerging territory, and acting as a team leader to educate the fields and partners.

Rene Bosman, Business Development Manager - Data Center & Virtualization - Cisco Africa/Levant
Rene Bosman is Cisco's Business Development Manager in Cisco's Africa and Levant Emerging Markets region for Data Center and Virtualization technologies. He has worked in the IT industry for more than 17 years and brings with him a wealth of experience from Storage Networking, Virtualization, Data Networking and more recently Cisco's Unified Computing server solutions within large Enterprise, Service Provider and commercial markets. Rene joined Cisco in late 1997 and started his career as a global account manager for a Fortune 500 enterprise oil and gas customer. Within this role he has been involved in large data center consolidation projects with global coverage. For the past 6 years Rene developed the Data Center practice for Cisco in Northern Europe and for the past 4 years he drove Cisco's successful entrance in the networked Data Center business in Emerging Markets. His drive and direction in the Data Center space and more recently in the Unified Computing and Virtualization market have allowed Cisco's Data Center initiative to scale, exceeding considerably the expected market acceptance. Rene also brings a great knowledge of Cisco's internal Data Center organization, both from a governance as well as technology perspective.

Shawn Wargo, Technical Marketing Engineer, SNBU (previously ISBU) Catalyst 6500 Product Marketing
Shawn Wargo has been working at Cisco for over 12 years, from 1999 to the present. During this time, Shawn has worked in Customer Advocacy (CA), with the Cisco TAC (LAN Switching), and also in Engineering, with Customer Operations (FTL / SH & CAT-LAB) and Development Testing, and most recently with Product Marketing. Shawn has been a Catalyst 6500 Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) since 2010, with special focus on IPv4 / IPv6 Routing & Switching, Multicast, and also Medianet.

Steve Badger, EMEA Solution Consulting Manager
Steve Badger brings a wealth experience of driving business innovation and transformation using technology solutions to consolidate IT systems and processes in real projects for enterprise and service provider customers.
He is a service catalog expert and is part of Cisco’s European Intelligent Automation business unit which specialises in providing solutions for virtualisation, data center and cloud management platforms.
Steve is an engaging and dynamic speaker who draws on real world experience in how to achieve success deploying service catalogues to transform the reputation of IT, enable new cloud based operating models to revolutionize service based IT offerings.

Sven Jirgal, Director EMEA Sales, Cisco Capital
Sven Jirgal is the Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Sales at Cisco Capital, managing the sales strategy and leading a team of financing and leasing experts who combine expertise in flexible, competitive financing with a comprehensive knowledge of Cisco technology. Cisco Capital manages an EMEA asset portfolio of US$1.2 billion.
Before joining Cisco, Jirgal was a Commercial Director with GE Capital UK in charge of leasing, car fleet, and corporate lending. Previously he was with Agilent Technologies, where he created and directed Agilent Financial Services for Europe and Asia Pacific and served as President of Agilent Financial Services. Jirgal began his career with Hewlett-Packard in Japan and Switzerland in finance, planning, and analysis. He subsequently held multiple responsibilities in sales, marketing, and general management at HP across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific.
Jirgal holds a degree in business from the University of Geneva.

Uri Mariash, Collaboration Business Development Manager
Uri Mariash joined Cisco in July 2009 after earning an MBA from MIT Sloan. At Cisco he is responsible for expanding Cisco’s footprint in the collaboration business across emerging markets. Before attending MIT Sloan he served as a lieutenant in the Israeli intelligence core where he led various technological teams. He holds an M.Sc degree in biomedical engineering and a B.Sc in electrical engineering both from Tel Aviv University.

Yves Torjman, Unified communication Product sales specialist
Product sales specialist for Collaboration business in Emerging Markets, covering Africa. Yves Torjman have a global market view and long-range vision backed by extensive telecom experience, including 15+ years in international markets. Own sales and go-to-market strategy for Unified Communications, UC Applications, Web Collaboration and Enterprise Social Software, focused on Enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB segments. Application focus areas include Unified communication, IP Telephony, Messaging, Conferencing (including WebEx), IM/Presence, Content Management, and Mobile Collaboration.

Conference Pass Substitution Policy
If you are unable to attend Cisco Expo 2011 after registering, a substitution from the same company is permitted at no additional charge. Please submit substitution notification to expo@indigo.co.za. Notification must be received in writing by Friday, 16 October 2011. For substitutions after the deadline, please bring a written notification to the on-site Cisco Expo registration area at Sun City.
