Yvon Le Roux

Vice President, Africa Levant, Emerging Central

Yvon Le Roux is Vice President of Cisco's Africa Levant region in Emerging Markets. The region includes Emerging Africa Countries, MENAL, and South Africa. In this role, le Roux is responsible for developing and exercuting the go-to-market strategies to help these countries in their drive to improve the lives of their citizens through better health care, education, public safety, national security and economic development through the use of technology.

Prior to joining emerging markets, le Roux was Vice President, Public Sector for Cisco's European Markets, where he successfully developed and led the strategy, sales and marketing programs for the government, healthcare, education and defence markets since 2003. In this role, le Roux's vision was to "Unleash the power of the network in the Public Sector to improve quality, reach and cost of public services". His team developed highly effective solutions to help public sector organizations connect, communicate and collaborate with citizens, busness and government.

Le Roux was also responsible for helping public sector customers secure funding from different government bodies for programs such as providing boradband to citizens and businesses. In addition, he has launched a number of research projects exploring the effects of IT on the public sector, such as Net Impact: From Connectivity to Productivity, and most recently "Shared Services in Government. Building a Platform for Better Public Services at Lower Cost, May 2007" by AT Kearney.

Le Roux joined Cisco in 1996 as Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa South which included France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Africa. Prior to joining Cisco, he held a number of senior positions at IT companies, spanning several territories. His career began at Sperry Computer Systems before moving to Matra Informatique as President in 1984.

Le Roux, a native French speaker, is also fluent in English and Italian. Having lived and worked in the United States, the UK, Sweden, France and Italy, he is now based in Paris.

Said Rechchad currently serves as General Manager for Cisco in Libya and been with Cisco since 2007. Before this, he was the Enterprise Lead for Africa & Levant for Cisco Systems Inc, where he helped form the company's strategies and activities in the Oil & Gas sector. Said has extensive international industry experience in upstream exploration & Production with particular interest in the digital oilfield. Furthermore, Said was involved in driving Cisco strategy for Finance, Mining, Utility and Transportation verticals within Africa Levant Region.

Prior to joining Cisco, Said spent 17 years in the fields of IT Management, IT Governance (standards, policies and procedures) and project management in Oil & Gas sector. He has been involved in a range of re-engineering projects aiming at aligning IT with the Core business strategy, while enhancing security and efficiency through innovation, collaboration and compliance with the Corporate standard.

Said was instrumental in the setting up of the Cisco team and office in Tripoli. While he is based in Cairo Egypt, he spends most of his time in Libya. Said is fluent in English, Italian, French and Arabic.
