Duncan Mitchell is responsible for Cisco’s business operations throughout the 84 countries in its Emerging Theatre, a multi-billion dollar operation that encompasses the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and Turkey. He is also a member of Cisco’s Emerging Countries Council.

Cisco’s vision for the Emerging Theatre is to lead emerging country innovation, prosperity, sustainability, and social inclusion through life-changing, intelligent networks.

Previously at Cisco, Mitchell ran the Emerging Markets East Super Region for four years. Before that he served as UK Managing Director for seven years. He joined Cisco in 1996.

Mitchell has a strong interest in Cisco’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs and is currently a member of the company’s Inclusion and Diversity Council, as well as Executive Sponsor of the Energy Advisory Board.

Den is responsible for helping customers in 84 countries align their business priorities with their IT strategies. His role is to demonstrate how an architectural approach to IT can help businesses thrive in a world where people want to share rich media with anyone, anywhere, on any device, at any time –securely, reliably, and seamlessly.

Prior to his role as Head of Architectures and Enterprise for Emerging Markets, he was CIO for a sales region that spanned Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Under his leadership, the IT Group made significant investment to support tremendous growth in the region. This meant transforming the organisation’s foundational infrastructure while providing a portfolio of new capabilities such as Telepresence, and additional video and collaboration technologies.

Den joined Cisco, and the IT Architecture Group, in 2000. He was responsible for several large-scale advanced technology programmes including the initial portfolio of Virtual Private Networks, Wireless and IP Telephony services. In 2003 he managed the transition of the European, Middle East and Africa WAN to a Multicast MPLS network, the first of its kind globally.

Prior to joining Cisco, Den held a number of management positions in utilities, public sector and consulting.

Den lives in Dubai with his young family and has run the London Marathon on ten occasions.

Rabih Dabboussi, Managing Director, leads the Strategic Service-Providers Business in Cisco’s Emerging Theater.

Rabih joined Cisco in 1996 as a software engineer in RTP, NC. He worked in the Internetworking Operating System (IOS) development area on Cisco’s core routing platforms for six years, before spending a further six years in a worldwide customer-facing and consultancy role in the Service-Provider Technology Group’s Mobile Business Unit.  Rabih has a very strong consultancy and architecture background focused on mobile products and technologies to accelerate the adoption of IP technologies and mobile.  Rabih led a consultancy team that helped grow Cisco’s mobile business worldwide, introducing numerous new products and technologies as the mobile world embraced IP and the internet. 

Along his journey, Rabih has achieved US technology patents that have helped differentiate Cisco’s products and solutions, whilst living and working in the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

He comes with different experiences from large organizations and service providers. Abdulrahman is CCIE certified and focusing on strategic Cisco clients supporting them with Cisco wide services portfolio. His main responsibilities is to fit technical requirements with the best services deliverable to meet highest values for clients. Ahmad Chehime currently is a Data Center and Virtualization Product Sales Specialist covering KSA. Previously, Ahmad held a Business Development Manager role for Cisco Digital Media Suite solution covering EMEAR region, under Cisco Emerging Technology Group. In Early 2008, Ahmad started to develop deep knowledge in video architectures for both enterprise and service provider segments.

Ahmad joined Cisco USA in early 2000 as a Technical Marketing Engineer focusing on Broadband and Leased-Lines Aggregation Architectures and products. Ahmad has extensive experience in Service Provider infrastructure deployments. In early 2006, he took on a Product Management role to drive the next generation Mid-range router ASR 1000 business at a global level. In that role, Ahmad led the new Cisco ASR1000 Router development lifecycle. Two years later, Ahmad joined Cisco KSA as a Senior System Engineer focusing on Mega-Cities projects initially and later on he supported the incumbent service provider in KSA; STC. Today Ahmad is working closely with our customers to make their IT as a Service and cloud computing journey a reality by evangelizing the new Cisco Unified Data Center  architecture and strategy.

Ahmad holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Minor degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

In 2011, Ahmed received the most prestigious Avaya Global Award “The Achievers Club” for his significant contribution to defend and grow Avaya Contact Center business in the Emerging.

In his current role with Cisco, Ahmed works closely with the leading organizations across the Emerging Market to help them define, design, implement and deploy their Contact Center business strategies and technology architectures to achieve competitive advantage through superior customer experience.

Andre Saade joined Cisco in 2007 as Service Provider Systems Engineer, and provides Technical Support to Optical Business in KSA for multiple customers.

Prior to joining Cisco, Andre was a Consultant for Videotron , EXFO ; an Advanced Systems Engineer and R&D Engineer at Corvis Corporation; HW Engineer at Nortel Networks; and a BioMedical Engineer at St-Luc Hospital (Montreal , Canada). Andre has over 15 years experience in various area of Telcommunications , focusing on Optical Technologies and Products.

Andre holds a Graduate Degree in Communications and Networking Emphasis (D.E.S.S.) from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal (Canada), and BS degree in Telecommunications from Saint Joseph University Beirut (E.S.I.B Lebanon).

 

Anwer Kotob

Since October 2007 Anwer Kotob has been working in a team of Public Sector and Education specialists within Cisco Systems working with the region's education authorities and other government agencies on education transformation initiatives and the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) to impact the national social and economic development. With primary focus on the K-12 and vocational education sectors, Anwer has also led projects in higher education and shared services within government agencies.

In the ten-year period between Oct. 1997 and Oct. 2007, Anwer has served in various consulting and managerial capacities within Cisco Systems focusing primarily on Systems Engineering Management and Technical & Solution Architectures in support of service providers and major deployments.

Prior to joining Cisco, Anwer held various technical managerial positions including, the Service Delivery Manager at Omnes (a Schlumberger- Cable&Wireless company focused on network integration and ISP services to Telcos, ISPs and the Oil Industry), and before that he was Director of Networking Services at Telematics. Anwer achieved CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) status in 1994 while working for Telematics.

Anwer holds a master's degree in Computer Science and another master's degree in Civil Engineering both from North Carolina State University.

Based in Dubai (UAE), Apollinaire runs a team of Consulting Systems Engineers that cover the Collaboration technologies in Emerging Markets. These CSEs advise Cisco’s customers and partners on innovative and business-transforming Collaboration solutions, using Cisco’s extended offering that ranges from Unified Communications to Contact Centers, and includes Social Networking, Telepresence and Video solutions, all of which can be offered on premise or via cloud.

Apollinaire joined Cisco to run the Telepresence and Video CSE team following the Tandberg acquisition, and he has a solid experience in Communications Technologies, after 11 years at Nortel and 8 years with Schlumberger’s ATE division. He also holds a Masters in Telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

 

Azzam Hamzah

Azzam Hamzah is a veteran IT Senior Professional with 20 plus years of experience in the IT Industry. Azzam Joined Cisco in 2010 and currently has the role of a Senior Services Account Manager handling Cisco Services offerings to Cisco Enterprise customers. Prior to Cisco, Azzam worked 14 years at Microsoft Corporation where he played multiple Engineering and Managerial roles. Azzam has both BS and MS degrees since 1990 in Computer Engineering form King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.

 

 

 

Bader Alotaibi

Bader has been with Cisco for over 5 years and has played a major role in designing some of the largest WiFi deployments in the region. He covers the Middle East with expertise on working with different industries (e.g. education, healthcare, oil & gas, service provider). While his main area of expertise is Wireless, Bader is also a part of the Borderless Network team in EMEA working with Security and R&S teams. Along with his main duty of helping customers and partners design wireless networks, he takes the responsibility of bridging the channel of communication between the field and Cisco's Wireless Business Unit which may influence future product developments.

Cem Yener is a Business Development Manager in Cisco Healthcare practice. Cem joined Cisco in January 2001. During his 12 years tenure in Cisco he held various roles in Sales Management (Public Sector), Strategic Accounts management and worldwide sales systems deployment. He has very strong communication skills and experience in global and multinational environments. Prior to Cisco, Cem worked for 7 years in Andersen Business Consulting. He led many large size pan-European and also local engagements across various sectors i.e. Pharmaceutical, Media, Manufacturing, Before joining Andersen, Cem worked as a Business Development Manager in Akzo-Nobel. Cem has an MSc degree in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University with a specific focus on Operations Research and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree from Bogazici University. He has also completed an International Management program in Insead (Fontainebleau, France). He is fluent in Turkish, English, French and has conversational level Dutch.

Derrick Hirschhorn is a Business Development Manager with Cisco EMEA Defense Group.  Derrick has more than 20 years of Defense/IT experience and has served as a CH-47D Helicopter pilot for eight years in the US Army.  As Cisco’s Business Development Manager, he works with defense customers throughout Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and supports customers with thought leadership and helping customer achieve greater levels of efficiency to help them improve operational effectiveness in defense strategic and tactical environments.

Gary Day joined Cisco on the European graduate program in 1997 as Support Engineer in the UK TAC providing Technical Support to Service Provider customers.

Since 1997 Gary has had numerous roles in Cisco Services as a network consulting engineer and Solutions Architect; In 2003 Gary moved from the UK to Dubai to focus
on starting the Technical support organisation in the middle east, Since 2003 Gary has worked extensively with SP's around the region advising and designing their core IP/MPLS Networks before recently moving back to Europe with his family as a Consulting Engineer in the Global SP NGN practice.

Gary holds a BSc in computer science from Staffordshire University and is currently in the final semester of an MBA program from Manchester University in England; Gary has had over 15 years of experience working with Cisco and Service providers.

Hania is Cisco’s Regional lead for the Education Vertical responsible for Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Russia. Based in Dubai, Hania has been working for Cisco for the past six years. She has been focusing on Public Sector for the past 4 years, advising Ministries and departments of Education as well as local governments on their ICT strategies and assisting them in formulating a vision and an ICT roadmap to address innovation and economic sustainability.

Prior to joining Cisco, Hania was a Senior Consultant at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young where she focused on Strategy, and operational Efficiency for the Manufacturing and Financial sectors

Hania has over 20 years of multi-national diversified experience and has worked in a wide range of countries: Turkmenistan, South Africa, Jordan, Hungary, UAE, France and Mexico. Hania holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College, Schenectady, NY, and an MBA from Weatherhead School of Management, Case-Western Reserve University, CL, OH.

He has been involved in various aspects of security such as Risk Management, Policy Development & Compliance, Security Awareness, Emergency & Incident Response, and Crisis Management. Being part of Cisco Emerging Solution, he maximized the value of Cisco's services offerings that public safety and security organisations would consider with focus on emerging technologies. As a Customer Solutions Manager, Hassan has been working on the development of Safety & Security solutions with partners and system integrators across the globe to develop a cohesive solution design based on technology architecture. Hassan graduated from the University of Western Ontario, London Ontario, Canada and acquired several industry certifications: Resources & Initial Action Incidents, Incident Command System (ICS) – FEMA - US Department of Homeland Security, CISA, CISSP, SSCP, BS7799 LA, Security+, and PMP.

Jamie is a 13 year Cisco veteran who has recently moved to manage Sales for Cisco WebEx Software as a Service (SAAS) in Emerging Markets. Prior to that position he ran the Channel for 2 and a half years again for Cisco WebEx SAAS in a larger Emerging Market including LATAM and Central and Eastern Europe. During that time a considerable amount of his time was spent in South Africa working with SP's and Cisco partners in training, selling and supporting Cisco WebEx solutions.

He has been based in Dubai UAE for the last 7 years in roles building Cisco based managed services with Service Providers across the Middle East and driving growth across the SMB sector as well.

For the previous 6 years he was based in Cisco Scotland mainly selling into the Oil & Gas sector in Aberdeen as well as: Service Provider, Large Enterprises and Business Development roles.

He is passionate about working with partners and customers to see where business challenges can be addressed with innovative new solutions to see where improvements can be made in; increased productivity, collaboration (both internally and externally) and allowing a more flexible approach to the traditional  work place environment in the new Post PC world we are currently living in.

Dr. Biyari joined the Advanced Electronics Company Ltd. (AEC) in June 1995. He was appointed as a VP R&D and tasked with the creation of development organization to support the growth of AEC business. He managed to progress across the business hierarchy of the organization to lead different business aspects into spectacular growth.  He contributed significantly to the transformation of the company from a manufacturing-only organization into one of the most powerful quality technology solutions developers and providers across the region.  He has beeninstrumental in successfully delivering several major telecom programs in partnership with leading international OEM’s.

Currently, he directs all operations of AEC telecom and IT business which increased significantly in sales over the last few years.  He provides leadership for all account management and program management staff and holds full P&L responsibility.  He oversees all business development, marketing, production, contractual, and financial activities of the business.

Prior to joining AEC, Dr. Biyari was an Associate Professor at the Electrical Engineering Dept. at King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals. In addition to his current interest in R&D, he has been involved in a diverse set of technical fields that include communicationsecurity, satellite based navigation systems, and C4I systems.
