Global Event’s Third Edition to Bring together Practitioners, and Innovators from Business, Government, and Academia Globally to Accelerate Market Adoption of the Internet of Things
DUBAI, UAE – 18 January 2015 – Cisco, in partnership with industry steering committee members, today announced that the Internet of Things World Forum (IoTWF) 2015 will take place in Dubai from December 6 to 8, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is opening up a world of real opportunities and rapidly transforming our communities, our cities and our daily lives. The third annual IoTWF in Dubai will mark yet another milestone in the growth of the IoT and promises to continue overwhelming success of the 2013 Barcelona and 2014 Chicago IoT World Forum events.
The 2015 IoTWF in Dubai aims to convene top thought leaders, implementers and creators across public sector, private business and education from throughout the Middle East as well as globally in one place at one time to collaborate, network, partner, and build the industry's ecosystem together.
The IoTWF is an event where members of the IoT community can share the latest developments in the industry including emerging applications. Industry leaders will also share their understanding of what they can do to advance the Internet of Things, build new relationships with other like-minded leaders, and create strategies for maximizing IoT benefits—both for their organizations and the industry as a whole.
Today, the Internet of Things encompasses more than 14 billion devices (things) connected to the Internet, providing the technology foundation for the Internet of Everything (IoE). IoE improves business outcomes through the intelligent networked connections among people, processes, data, and things. This global phenomenon creates unprecedented economic opportunities to enhance productivity, sustainability and experiences. The primary mission of the IoTWF is to build a strong technology foundation that creates market value from the Internet of Things and the Internet of Everything.
His Excellency Mr Ahmad Bin Byat, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Smart Dubai Initiative
“With Dubai rapidly becoming a beacon for global Smart Cities in leveraging the Internet of Things, we are anticipating the Internet of Things World Forum 2015 to be the largest and most impressive yet. By bringing together the industry’s public, private, and educational sectors, Dubai will take prominence on the global stage in exchanging best practices and setting global benchmarks.”
Rabih Dabboussi, General Manager, Cisco UAE
“Hosting the Internet of Things World Forum is an exciting milestone for Dubai, placing it at the forefront of what is already a global industry phenomenon. The IoTWF will give Dubai the opportunity to showcase first-hand, the numerous technology initiatives that are already contributing towards it becoming an exemplary smart city pioneer, not only throughout the region but also on a global scale.”
Wim Elfrink, Executive Vice President, Industry Solutions, and Chief Globalization Officer, Cisco
“The 2015 IoTWF in Dubai promises to be yet another premier IoT leadership forum to shape and accelerate the Internet of Things for governments and industries worldwide. Dubai is an ideal venue to build on the framework set recently at the 2014 Chicago event around infrastructure, ecosystems and real-world solutions to improve quality of life through better and faster decision-making. IoTWF has emerged as THE industry event for validating and accelerating this rapidly growing market in the digital age.”
