Fort Aguada:


The largest and best preserved Portuguese fort in Goa, Fort Aguada, built in 1602-12 has withstood the vagaries of nature for more than four centuries. A majestic lighthouse erected in 1864, is the oldest of its kinds at the fort. The fort is surrounded by a well and fresh water springs useful for ships that anchored there. It derives its name from "Agua", meaning water in Portuguese - therefore, a place where water accumulates. Exploring Fort Aguada on foot is recommended. It currently houses the largest jail in Goa.



Anjuna Beach:


Located in North Goa, 18 kms. from Panaji, Anjuna beach is one of the most popular beach fronts in Goa. This is a part of the 30 km. stretch of the western coastline of Goa. The beauty of white waves against the golden sands of the beach is a visual treat for the spectator at Anjuna. The flea-market at the beach provides you with a plethora of souvenirs and mouth-watering delicacies to pick from.



Basilica of Bom Jesus:


The Bom Jesus Basilica, a World Heritage Monument 10 kms. from Panaji, is Goa's most famous church revered by Christians around the world. Dedicated to Infant Jesus, the Church itself is in partial ruins, yet an example of Christian simplicity and elegance. It seamlessly combines Baroque, Doric, Corinthian and composite styles of architecture. It is here that the sacred relics of the body of St. Francis Xavier are kept. The interiors of the chapel are adorned with carvings and paintings depicting the life of the saint while the Holy Casket, exquisitely carved, represents in relief, scenes from the Saint’s life.
