Description of the Release

Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.1EB is a new specific technology early deployment (STED) release vehicle optimized for the continued shipment and support of the 8540/8510/LS1010 platforms. This release is based upon Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1E and supports these specific platforms as the Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1E train has closed to new feature commits to start its own GD process at Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)E.

Note: Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1EB features will not get incorporated into any Cisco IOS 12.1E software releases. All features committed to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1EB will stay on the EB train until a migration path to next generation (Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2 or later) train is defined. No decision has been made at this time.

Target Market

 Cisco Systems, Inc. released Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1EB as a long-lived ED release for the Cisco 8510, 8540, and LS1010 platforms. It is targeted for the Enterprise market.
