End-of-Life Notice and End-of-Life

Announcement for Cisco IDS NRS Sensor

Cisco Systems^® announces the end of life of the Cisco^® IDS NRS Sensor. The end of sale for the Cisco IDS NRS Sensor was January 26, 2000. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 24, 2005. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco IDS NRS Sensor.

The replacement product for the Cisco IDS NRS Sensor is the Cisco IDS 4235 Sensor. The IDS 4235 delivers increased performance at 200 Mbps, with a reduced form factor. The IDS 4235 also delivers a lower price-performance ratio, lowers total cost of ownership with embedded Web-based management capabilities, and increases the capability of the sensor through the support of Cisco IDS Sensor Software 4.0.

End-of-sale date	The last date that customers could order the Cisco IDS NRS Sensor through Cisco point-of-sale mechanisms. The product is no longer for sale.	January 26, 2000
End-of-service contract renewal date	The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.	January 26, 2004
Last date of support	The last date to receive service and support for Cisco IDS NRS Sensor. After this date, all support services for Cisco IDS NRS Sensor are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.	January 26, 2005
