Introduction
PCs running both software management applications over MS Internet Explore (IE) need to change the Java setting on the browser to allow both applications to run without any issues. Otherwise, the Fabric Manger will run and CiscoWorks will not. This is due to the fact that Cisco's storage application Fabric Manger supports Java applets JVM 1.4.0, and CiscoWorks uses Java JVM 1.3.0.
To get both application to function on the same machine, you need to uncheck the box labeled Use Java 2 v1.4.1_02 for applet; this requires a restart. After rebooting the PC, both applications function properly over the same browser.
