Cisco Systems® announces the End-of-Life of the Cisco® Catalyst® Campus Switch Router (CSR) and select multiservice switch router (MSR) line cards. The last day to order the Cisco Catalyst CSR is December 15, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 15, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Catalyst CSR. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Catalyst 8500 MSR for ATM and multiservice applications and to the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch for Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching applications. Information about the Cisco Catalyst 8500 MSR is available at:
Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco Catalyst CSR to the Catalyst 8500 MSR or Catalyst 6500 Series.
