Upgrade Information

If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Cisco Unity, note the following:

If you currently have a networking option setup that uses the Voice Connector, the installed version of the Voice Connector must be uninstalled before installing the new version. For more information see the following sections:

Uninstalling the Cisco Unity Voice Connector

Uninstalling the Cisco Unity Voice Connector, in the Cisco Unity Bridge Networking Guide, available on Cisco.com at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_installation_and_configuration_guide_books_list.html.

If you currently have AMIS Networking set up on a Cisco Unity system, version 3.0(x) through 3.1(1), the AMIS feature and the Cisco Unity Voice Connector should be uninstalled before upgrading Cisco Unity.

If you currently have the Cisco Unity Voice Connector for Exchange installed, it must be uninstalled before installing a new version of the Voice Connector. (The Voice Connector is used in AMIS, Bridge, SMTP, and VPIM Networking.)

Removing SMTP Networking

Do the following tasks to remove the SMTP Networking option from Cisco Unity:

1. Uninstall all instances of the Voice Connector. See the applicable procedures in the "Uninstalling the Cisco Unity Voice Connector" section.

3. If desired, make note of the Internet Subscriber information.

4. Delete all SMTP delivery locations, as appropriate. See the procedure, To delete SMTP delivery locations.

5. If you currently have Cisco Unity version 2.4(6) through 3.1(x), delete the Internet Subscribers. See the procedure, To delete Internet Subscribers.

Note In Cisco Unity 4.0 and later, Internet Subscribers are automatically deleted from the Cisco Unity Administrator when the underlying Active Directory contacts or Exchange 5.5 custom recipients are deleted.
