Use these release notes with the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G for firmware release 8.0(4) running on Cisco Unified Communication Manager versions 6.1, 6.0, 5.0, 4.1, 4.0, and 3.3 (SCCP).

Installation Notes
Before using the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G with Cisco Unified Communication Manager release 3.3.2 or later, you must install the latest firmware on all Cisco Unified Communication Manager servers in the cluster. The firmware image name for the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G for firmware release 8.0(4) is CP7912080004SCCP080108A.sbin.
Note
Release 8.0(4) supports both versions of the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G (CP-7912G and CP-7912G-A).
To install the firmware, follow these steps:

Step 1
Go to the following URL:

Step 2
To download the firmware for the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G, click one of the following hyperlinks and follow the prompts:

Cisco Unified Communications Manager release 4.1 and earlier:
cmterm-7912G-sccp.8-0-4.exe
•
Cisco Unified Communications Manager release 5.0 (prior to 5.0(4)):
cmterm-7912-.8.0.4-sccp.cop
•
Cisco Unified Communications Manager release 5.0(4) and later:
cmterm-7912-8.0.4-sccp.cop.sgn
Step 3
Go back to the URL shown in Step 1, double-click the following hyperlink, and follow the prompts to download the Readme file, which contains installation instructions for the corresponding firmware:

Step 4
Follow the instructions in the Readme file to install the firmware.

Log on with your Cisco.com user ID and password.
Step 3
To look for information about a specific problem, enter the bug ID number in the "Search for bug ID" field, then click Go.
Open Caveats
There are no open caveats for firmware release 8.0(4).
Resolved Caveats
Table 1 lists Severity 1, 2 and 3 defects that are resolved for the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7921G using firmware release 8.0(4).
