Three Insights from Our Customers to Operate More Efficiently and Capture New Mobile Service Revenue

Tuesday, December 13, 2016
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern Time (GMT-5)

Speakers:

Ola Mabadeje, Sr. Manager, Business and Technology Architecture Marketing

Software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) are new technologies that promise to cut costs for operators and allow much faster services deployment. We have all heard that. But do they really deliver?

We set out to learn, and our best teachers are our customers.

On our webinar we will share some insights from customers that are embarking on a path to automation and orchestration of network services. These efforts lead to faster time to market and simpler operations.

You can see costs reduced by up to 70 percent as you transition to flexible software infrastructures based on NFV and SDN. In addition, some customers are gaining as much as 40 to 60 percent efficiency as they automate specific operations such as MOP[[NOTE: Please define MOP]], new customer adds, change requests, and service disconnects.

By 2020, service providers will be able to seize a share of more than $1 trillion in incremental revenues across cloud, mobile, and video offers. More than $500 billion of that will be in mobile services, as mobile data traffic skyrockets by more than 50 percent annually through 2020.

Come learn how your business can capitalize on the remarkable opportunity as detailed in our Monetization and Optimization Index (MOI) forecast. We will cover specific new opportunities in mobile, such as analytics as a service, voice over Wi-Fi, and virtual mobile private networks.

Cisco VNI Global Traffic and Service Role of BigData & Advanced Analytics for NFV/SDN

Wednesday, December 07, 2016
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern Time (GMT-5)
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Pacific Time (GMT-8)

Speakers:

Mark Ghattas, Cisco Services
Renato Fichmann, Cisco Services

As Communication Service Providers (CSPs) adopt virtualization technologies like NFV/SDN,  to realize the desired business benefits of reducing operating costs and accelerate service innovation, they need to start developing their big data and advanced analytics capabilities. These are critical components in the world of virtualization that provide the context for service assurance, self-optimization and self-healing networks, moving from being mostly reactive to be more predictive and preemptive, regarding to quality of service.

With NFV/SDN deployments, CSPs' operations are being inundated with massive amounts of both structured and unstructured data from the control plane (MANO), data plane (VNFs), and converged infrastructure (OpenStack and other virtualization platforms). With Big data & Analytics, this data can be consumed through applications that improves customer experience with proactive fault analysis, service health visibility, predictive algorithms to address performance, capacity planning, service availability etc.

What will you learn?

  • SDN/NFV Challenges & Impact on SP Operations
  • Role of Big Data & Analytics for SP Assurance
  • Assurance Applications- Fault Management, Service Health, Perfomance, Capacity Planning etc
  • How can Cisco Services help CSPs to define a strategy, a plan and to implement these solutions.

Digitization is creating new business opportunities and security challenges for video operators, including service providers, and media and entertainment companies. Premium, high-valued content is at the heart of the video industry. Protecting that content and the revenue associated with it is top priority for all video operators. With the transition to more IP and cloud technology, the potential number of attacks and threats on video operator networks is growing. To protect against current and future threats in this environment, video operators need to adopt a holistic approach to achieve robust security. In this webcast, learn about Cisco Security for Video, launched at IBC 2016.

Topics of discussion for this session:

  • Why digitization demands a holistic security approach to protect video providers from data breaches and piracy
  • Cisco’s end-to-end holistic security solution for video providers
  • How Cisco Security for Video combines best-in-class technologies with an architectural approach to protect the content, service, infrastructure, and your business
