This article is one in a series to assist in the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Cisco Small Business products (formerly Linksys Business Series).

Q. Why does ProtectLink Gateway Email Protection delete or quarantine an email again after I resend it?

A.

The ProtectLink Gateway Email Protection deletes or quarantine an email again after user resend it.

This occurs when there is more than one policy preventing the mail from being sent out.

Thus, if one policy quarantined the email the first time, the other policy may catch it when it is resent, either deleting the email or putting it into quarantine again.

To resolve the issue,

  • Check for other policies that may be catching the email
  • Disable them before resending.
  • If there is none but still the mail is not delivered, please follow the procedure in Emails are missing after setting up IMHS. <link to MissingEmails.doc>
