Defect Information

CSCwe08918	Removing AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap381781 breaks config.xml / config agent.

Problem Description

The removal of the AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap381781 patch leaves the server in a faulty state. The server is unable to start because ConfigAgent has a corrupted configuration.

Background

This issue was found in a customer's lab, where it was recommended to remove these patches:

AP.platform.23.0.1075.ap383547
AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap383547

Removal of the suggested patches also required removal of the AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap381781 patch. This corrupted the ConfigAgent's configuration and left the server in a state where it was unable to start.

The faulty patch AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap381781 has been recalled.

Problem Symptom

On the restart after the patch removal, the server will not start and displays this message:


Starting ConfigAgent... [done]

Starting SnmpAgent... [failed]

Starting LicenseManager... [done]

--> Starting BroadWorks <--

Starting [failed]

This output can be seen in the configdOutput*.log file.

cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'xsiVTRXSTAS'. One of '{"http://schema.broadsoft.com/broadworksConfig":webapp}' is expected.

Workaround/Solution

In order to resolve this issue, customers should remove the faulty patch, and then download and run the newly released version.
