Cisco Analog Terminal Adaptor Model 186/188 - Firmware Version 3.2(4)

The firmware image within the installation program is named ATA030204SCCP090202A.zup and supports the Skinny Client Control Protocol (SCCP) for the Cisco Analog Terminal Adaptor Model 186/188.

This firmware version is supported on Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Release 4.1 and later, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CUCME) Release 4.1 and later.

Installation Instructions     

1.     Click on the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ata186.

2.     Find and click on the current software version.

7.     Download to your hard drive the proper Cisco ATA firmware installer for your Cisco Unified Communications Manager version as shown in Table 1.

Please note that different versions of the Cisco ATA firmware installer are needed for different Cisco Unified Communications Manager releases.

8.     Install the firmware according to your Cisco Unified Communications Manager release.

            Cisco Unified Communications Manager (formerly Cisco Unified CallManager) Version 5.1 and later

            1.  Using your web browser, login to the Cisco Unified OS Administration web page.
            2.  Under the Software Upgrades menu, select Install/Upgrade.
            3.  Fill in the appropriate values in the Software Location section for the file you downloaded above, and click Next.

            4.  In the Available Software drop-down box, select the file you downloaded above, and click Next.

                 Note:  In CUCM 6.0 and later, the drop-down box is referred to as Options/Upgrades.
            5.  After validating the MD5 hash value is correct, click Next.
            6.  (CUCM 5.1)  In the Warning box, verify you have selected the correct file, then click Install.
            7.  Verify the installation message is success” (CUCM 5.1) or installation status is complete” (CUCM 6.0 and later).

            8.  To install another file, click New Install (CUCM 5.1) or Install Another (CUCM 6.0 and later) and repeat steps 3 - 7.

            9.  Restart the TFTP server
                     a.  From the Navigation drop-down menu, select Cisco Unified CallManager Serviceability (CUCM 5.1)

                          or Cisco Unified Serviceability (CUCM 6.0 and later) and click Go.

                     b.  Under the Tools menu, select Control Center - Feature Services.
                     c.  In the Server drop-down box, select the server where the firmware was installed.
                     d.  Click the Cisco Tftp service radio button.

                     e.  Click the Restart button or icon.
            10.  Reset the Cisco ATA to upgrade the firmware.
                     a.  From the Navigation drop-down menu, select Cisco Unified CallManager Administration (CUCM 5.1)

                          or Cisco Unified CM Administration (CUCM 6.0 and later) and click Go.

                     b.  Under Device menu, select Phone.
                     c.  Click Find to list all the devices.
                     d.  Select the Cisco ATA to reset, then click Reset Selected button or icon.
                     e.  In the Device Reset pop-up window, click Reset.

          Cisco Unified CallManager Version 4.1, 4.2, 4.3

          1.  Extract the image from the zip file, manually copy it to TFTP server.
          2.  Using your web browser, login to the Cisco Unified CallManager Administration web page.
          3.  Under the System menu, select Device Defaults.
          4.  Set the Load Information field for the Cisco ATA to ATA030204SCCP090202A.
          5.  Reset the Cisco ATA to upgrade the firmware.
               a.  Using your web browser, login to the Cisco Unified CallManager Administration web page.
               b.  Under the Device menu, select Phone.
               c.  Click Find to list all the devices.
               d.  Select the Cisco ATA to reset, then click Reset Selected.
               e.  In the Reset Device pop-up window, click Reset.

          Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express Version 4.1 and later

          1.  Extract the image from the zip file, manually copy it to TFTP server (router flash), and enable it for TFTP.
          2.  For the ATA device type, set the load type to ATA030204SCCP090202A.zup.
          3.  Reset the Cisco ATA to upgrade the firmware.

Verifying the Firmware Load

You may verify the installation of the firmware as follows:

          Cisco Unified Communications Manager (formerly Cisco Unified CallManager) Version 5.1 and later

          1.  Using your web browser, login to the Cisco Unified CM Administration web page.
          2.  Under the Device menu, select Device Settings > Device Defaults.
          3.  Verify the new firmware image name is listed in the Load Information field for the Cisco ATA.

          Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express Version 4.1 and later

          1.  Use show flash: command to learn the filenames associated with the Cisco ATA firmware.
          2.  Use show ephone phone-load command to verify the Cisco ATA firmware is installed on a particular ephone.
