Thank you again for helping Cisco reach this fabulous milestone, and for making the Millionth Router Promotion such an overwhelming success. Since the secretly designated router landed at a distributor location, and not an end user location we defaulted to a random drawing (as per the contest rules -- Partner or End user). And now for the winners of the Millionth Router contest…

Greg Duthie UUNet Network Support Engineer
A self-described "geek" since the age of 16, Greg Duthie, 22, has worked with UUNet for a year, monitoring and troubleshooting the corporate network. After being speechless for a few moments, he shouted, "REALLY? That's more than fine!" Originally, Duthie planned to wait a few years to get CCIE certified. But winning the Millionth Router bounty has convinced him to do it sooner. He plans to invest the rest of his prize money. |
Steve Rader WiscNet Network and Systems Manager
"Lord, I can't believe it! This is wonderful!" Steve Rader exclaimed upon finding out he had won the end-user prize. A Madison, Wisconsin, resident, Rader works with WiscNet, a nonprofit assocation that provides high-speed computer network connections for the University of Wisconsin's affiliated campuses. Rader is married and has a two year-old daughter named Ariella. The prize money will likely go toward a new house for the family and a laptop for Rader.
