And the winners are...

Greg Duthie and Steve Rader

Thank you again for helping Cisco reach this fabulous milestone, and for making the Millionth Router Promotion such an overwhelming success.

Since the secretly designated router landed at a distributor location, and not an end user location we defaulted to a random drawing (as per the contest rules -- Partner or End user).

And now for the winners of the Millionth Router contest…

Partner:
Greg Duthie

UUNet
Network Support Engineer

A self-described "geek" since the age of 16, Greg Duthie, 22, has worked with UUNet for a year, monitoring and troubleshooting the corporate network. After being speechless for a few moments, he shouted, "REALLY? That's more than fine!"

Originally, Duthie planned to wait a few years to get CCIE certified. But winning the Millionth Router bounty has convinced him to do it sooner. He plans to invest the rest of his prize money.
End user:
Steve Rader

WiscNet
Network and Systems Manager

"Lord, I can't believe it! This is wonderful!" Steve Rader exclaimed upon finding out he had won the end-user prize. A Madison, Wisconsin, resident, Rader works with WiscNet, a nonprofit assocation that provides high-speed computer network connections for the University of Wisconsin's affiliated campuses.

Rader is married and has a two year-old daughter named Ariella. The prize money will likely go toward a new house for the family and a laptop for Rader.
