What is the Bookmarks portlet and how does it work?

The Bookmarks portlet allows you to store and manage your bookmarks in folders. By default, the Bookmarks portlet contains some links to information on the Cisco Technical Support Website. You can add, delete, and edit any of the links to meet your needs.

How do I add links?

1.       Click the Edit icon at the top right corner of the Bookmarks portlet. A screen displays showing a list of your folders and corresponding links.

2.       Click the Add New button at the top right. A screen displays with Link Name, Link URL, and Folder fields.

3.       Enter the link name in the Link Name field.

4.       Enter the URL in the Link URL field.

5.       Assign the link to an existing folder or create a new folder by using the Folder fields.

6.       Click Save. The list of folders and links displays again.

How do I delete links?

1.       Click the Edit icon at the top right corner of the Bookmarks portlet. A screen displays showing a list of your folders and corresponding links.

2.       Select the radio button next to the link you want to delete.

3.       Click the Delete button. The link is removed and your page refreshes

4.       Click Save. The My Tech Support homepage displays.

How do I add a new folder for storing links?

1.       Click the Edit icon at the top right corner of the Bookmarks portlet. A screen displays showing a list of your folders and corresponding links.

2.       Click the Add New button at the top right. A screen displays with Link Name, Link URL, and Folder fields.

3.       Enter a new folder name into the Create New Folder field.

4.       Click Save. The list of folders and links displays and includes your new folder.

How do I delete a folder?

Important: This action deletes the folder and all of its contents.

1.       Click the Edit icon at the top right corner of the Bookmarks portlet. A screen displays showing a list of your folders and corresponding links.

2.       Select the radio button next to the folder you want to delete

3.       Click the Delete button. Your page refreshes and the folder does not appear.

4.       Click Save. The My Tech Support homepage displays.

How do I edit a link?

1.       Click the Edit icon at the top right corner of the Bookmarks portlet. A screen displays showing a list of your folders and corresponding links.

2.       Select the radio button next to the name of the link or folder you want to edit.

3.       Click the Edit icon. A page displays showing details about the link or folder you selected.

4.       Make your edits.

5.       Click Save.

6.       A screen displays showing your list of folders and corresponding links.

7.       Click the Done button to return to the My Tech Support home page.

Why is the Bookmarks portlet empty?

If the Bookmarks portlet is empty, send email to mytechsupport-feedback@cisco.com.

How do I delete the Bookmarks portlet?

1.       Click the Edit icon on the active page tab. The portlets and the layout for your page display.

2.       Click the X on the Bookmarks portlet.

3.       Click Save. The portlet is removed from your page.

To add the portlet again:

  1. Click the Edit icon on the active page tab.
  2. Click the Add Portlet button. A list of portlets that you can add to your page displays.
