Next-Generation WLAN Complete at San Jose Campus

Next-Generation WLAN Complete at San Jose Campus

Late last year, Cisco IT completed deploying NexGen WLAN infrastructure across the entire San Jose campus. Deployment is now commencing in Europe and the AsiaPacific theatre, with Emerging Markets and the rest of the Americas following soon after. All Cisco sites are expected to be complete by early Q1FY08.

NexGen WLAN has been designed as a primary access medium for all Cisco staff. Offering significantly higher bandwidth, improved service availability and native support for wireless voice and video, NexGen WLAN utilizes Cisco’s latest Unified WLAN solutions. Future enhancements include the introduction of location based services, a new Cisco Secure Services Client for user’s laptops, and enhanced security features.

More information on NexGen WLAN, its capabilities and the technology solution can be found on the IT WLAN Services page. Information on when you can expect your local site can also be found on the Availability page. Questions on NexGen WLAN can also be sent to ask-ngwireless@cisco.com.
