Cisco Optical solutions provide extremely high bandwidth transport across Cisco IT’s IP network. While most optical products are used in the Service Provider space, Cisco IT uses some optical products in its Enterprise architecture. Primarily these optical products are used for connectivity to Service Provider’s SONET networks for long distance voice, video and data transport, and for high speed connectivity across Cisco IT-owned dark fiber in Cisco campuses.
