The Cisco Compatible eXtension (CCX) is a no-fee licensing arrangement, enabling WLAN chip vendors to license Ciscos enhanced software security package, featuring LEAP authentication software. Simply it permits the interoperation of other vendors PC cards and wireless devices to the Cisco WLAN infrastructure with strict security measures, to make WLAN safer and easier to deploy. It is estimated that CCX partners represent 90% of WLAN designs on the market today, from PDAs and mobile phones to laptops.
Look out for the CCX symbol which signifies that your equipment is compatible.
