About Direct Installation

This chapter explains the sequence of tasks for creating virtual machines directly on the customer destination servers.

The sequence is:
  1. Download the OVA files. See Open Virtualization Files
  2. Create VMs (this chapter)
  3. Perform initial configuration to configure them for customer use. See Configuration.

Note

Skip this chapter if you are deploying with golden templates.

Create VM for Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Call Server

Follow this sequence of tasks to create a VM directly for the CCE Call Servers on Side A and Side B.

Create VM for Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Data Server

Follow this sequence of tasks to create a virtual machine directly for the CCE Data Servers on Side A and Side B. The process is nearly identical to creating a VM for the CCE Call Server, with the additional step to install Microsoft SQL Server.

Create VMs for the Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal Servers

Follow this sequence of tasks to create a golden templates for the Unified CVP Call/VXML servers and for the Unified CVP OAMP server.
  • The Unified CVP Call/VXML servers are deployed as four virtual machines—two on Side A and two on Side B.
  • The Unified CVP OAMP server is deployed as one virtual machine on Side A.

This process is similar for the Call/VXML and the OAMP servers—the differences are selections you make from the OVA drop-down list and in the Select Packages options during the installation.

Sequence

Task

1 Using CCE-PAC-M1-CVP.ova, Create a virtual machine from the OVA. (Select CVP OAMP Server or CVP Call Server from the drop-down, depending on which VM you are deploying.)
2 Install Windows Server 2008

NTP configuration is required if this machine is not in the same domain as the Call Servers and Data Servers. See NTP and time synchronization.

3 Install VMware tools for VMs on Windows
4 Configure network adapters for Customer Voice Portal
5 Run Windows updates
6 Install anti-virus software
7 Install Unified CVP server
8

Configure the CVP VMs on the destination system. See Unified Customer Voice Portal.

Create VM for Cisco Unified Communications Manager Publisher

Follow this sequence of tasks to directly create the virtual machine for the Cisco Unified Communications Manager publisher.

Sequence

Task

1 Using CCE-PAC-M1-CUCM.ova. Create a virtual machine from the OVA. (Select 7500 user node from the drop-down list.)
2 Install the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Publisher. See Direct install for Publishers/Primary nodes of VOS-based contact center applications.
3 Install VMware tools for VMs on Windows
4

Configure Unified Communications Manager. See Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

Create VM for Cisco Unified Communications Manager Subscriber

Follow this sequence of tasks to directly create the virtual machine for the Cisco Unified Communications Manager subscriber.

Sequence

Task

1 Using CCE-PAC-M1-CUCM.ova, Create a virtual machine from the OVA. (Select 7500 user node from the drop-down list.)
2 Install the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Subscriber. See Direct install for Subscribers/Secondary nodes of VOS-based contact center applications.
3 Install VMware tools for VMs on Windows
4

Configure Unified Communications Manager. See Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

Create VM for Cisco Finesse Primary

Follow this sequence of steps to create a VM directly for the Cisco Finesse Primary node on Side A.

Sequence

Task

1 Using the CCE-PAC-M1-Finesse.ova, Create a virtual machine from the OVA. (There is no selection from the drop-down list.)
2 Install the Cisco Finesse Primary node. See Direct install for Publishers/Primary nodes of VOS-based contact center applications.
3 Install VMware tools for VMs on Windows
4

Configure Cisco Finesse. See Cisco Finesse.

Create VM for Cisco Finesse Secondary

Follow this sequence of tasks to directly create the virtual machine for the Cisco Finesse Secondary node on Side B.

When you have the VMs for the Cisco Finesse primary and secondary nodes, you can configure them. See Cisco Finesse checklist.

Sequence

Task

1 Using CCE-PAC-M1-Finesse.ova, Create a virtual machine from the OVA. (There is no selection from the drop-down list.)
2 Install the Cisco Finesse Secondary node. See Direct install for Subscribers/Secondary nodes of VOS-based contact center applications.
3 Install VMware tools for VMs on Windows
4

Configure Cisco Finesse. See Cisco Finesse.

Create VM for Unified Intelligence Center Publisher

Follow this sequence of tasks to directly create the virtual machine for the Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Publisher.

Sequence

Task

1 Using CUIC_9.0_vmv8_v2.2.ova, Create a virtual machine from the OVA. (Select 7500 user node from the drop-down list.)
2 Install the Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Publisher. See Direct install for Publishers/Primary nodes of VOS-based contact center applications.
3 Install VMware tools for VMs on Windows
4

Configure Cisco Unified Intelligence Center. See Cisco Unified Intelligence Center.

Create VM for Unified Intelligence Center Subscriber

Follow this sequence of tasks to directly create the virtual machine for the Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Subscriber.

Sequence

Task

1 Using CCE-PAC-M1-CUIC.ova, Create a virtual machine from the OVA. Select 7500 user node from the drop-down list.
