Tell us what you do in Cisco?

I'm a software engineer, developing software for use on video conferencing equipment. The software spans from GUI code, to support scripts on linux, all the way down to linux kernel level.

What are the most interesting aspects of your job?

Working with brilliant people on new hardware and software solutions – not only are the solutions and technologies new to me, they are new and awesome in and by themselves.

What do you like best about working here?

Well, I like the things that make it interesting. There are lots of cool things about working here – benefits, facilities, ice cream and whatnot – but what makes me love working here are the things I get to work on. The technologies and assignments in and by themselves.

What surprised you most about Cisco when you first started?

The cisco week and other benefits came as a bit of a surprise. Otherwise, I'd seen a lot of the offices and such before starting. The quality of the dinners, and the Cisco week, essentially the range of benefits.

What's your favourite benefit at Cisco?

The Cisco week, I suppose. Who could *not* love a paid week off. That, and the flexibility in worktime/vacations seem very nice.
