Mr. Michael Koons is the Vice President of World Wide Systems Engineering for the World Wide Sales organization at Cisco Systems. Mike is responsible for ensuring the Systems Engineering (SE) community meets the business needs of Cisco’s customers and partners. In this capacity, he focuses on the technology and business demands of this strategic community within Cisco.
Mike is also responsible for the field engineering and technology strategy for all architectures within Cisco as it relates to the SE community. In these technology areas, Mike focuses on strategy, network architecture, product placement and engineering. Through the SE community, Mike is responsible for building the bridge between Cisco’s technology solutions and our customers’ business imperatives while ensuring the SE community is influential throughout this business process.
Mike has more than 25 years of networking and telecommunications experience. He started his career within the Bell System working for Bell Atlantic in various engineering and operational roles. He joined Cisco in 1996 as a systems engineer and has worked in several technical and leadership roles while supporting many different market segments in the field sales group. He previously served as the technology lead for Global Segments and Architectures (GSA) where his primary function was to align the SE organization around Engineering, Architectures and Cisco’s technical strategy.
Mike has been active in several industry groups including USTA, ATIS and others. He has served on the ATIS Technology Council as the representative for Cisco focusing on common industry issues such as Network Optimization, Cloud Applications for Service Providers and CDN Federations. Mike has also served on the Colorado Governor’s Technology Board. Mike and his family currently reside in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
He started his career in 2005, as instructor within CATC Romania. During the same period he worked with Bucharest Polytechnic University, as university assistant. Between 2006 and 2007 he occupied the network specialist position within Ness Technologies, where he was responsible for supporting the sales team in what regards promoting and selling the Cisco products and solutions. In 2007 and 2008 he graduated a Cisco Sales Associate Program in Amsterdam and continued within the team as networking consultant engineer.
Between 2009 and 2010 he worked for Romtelecom and then retuned to Cisco as Account Manager. Before being promoted as Cisco Romania Country Manager, Dorin Pena was covering the Strategic Account Managers position within Service Providers division.
Dorin Pena holds a diploma in management at IEDC Bled School of Management (Slovenia).
Gabriel Musat has 25 years’ experience in telecommunications, as system designer, implementation engineer, technical and business manager. In the past 19 years he held various management positions in Datanet Systems, being involved in hundreds of telecom and IT infrastructure projects, including projects for designing and testing IoT products and systems.
Cristian Matei is a Solutions Architect at Datanet Systems SRL with a main focus of translating business requirements into the best possible technical solution and system architecture. Cristian is also a Senior Technical Instructor at Internetwork Expert, developing expert-level technical content and teaching CCIE boot camps. Additionally, Cristian has authored several Cisco Press publications. Among other numerous certifications, Cristian holds a CCIE in Routing&Switching and Security.
Mihai has over 10 years’ experience in the IT industry as a network engineer and architect, with a focus on datacenter technologies and service provider networks.
Stelian Campianu has a 20 years experience in IT. He graduated the Politehnica University from Timisoara, where he holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and managed to turn his hobby for IT into a successful career.
Stelian Campianu joined ETA2U in 2005 in the position of Executive Director, with the role of supporting the company’s transformation towards a national player on the Romanian IT Market. Nowadays, ETA2U is the most important System Integrator located outside Bucharest and one of the Top 10 IT Companies in Romania.
Before joining ETA2U, Stelian worked for Solectron, a multinational Electronic Manufacturing Services Company where he held a management role at European level, being responsible for IT services delivery on all European Manufacturing Sites.
Mr. Cristian Pațachia-Sultănoiu is an experienced manager with over 15 years of experience in telecom industry, covering an extensive spectrum of technology, business development and innovation management He received a BSc degree in Electronics and Telecommunications at the Satellite and Mobile Communications department of the Politehnica University Bucharest in 2000 and also his MSc degree in Optical Fiber, Fixed and Mobile Radio Communications at the Politehnica University of Bucharest in 2001.
Mr. Pațachia-Sultănoiu also has an Executive MBA in Finance from University of Sheffield and has been working for Orange Romania since 2000, currently managing the Development & Innovation team of the Engineering department. He is currently coordinating several research projects in the following areas : cybersecurity, smart city, Wi-Fi offload for cellular data networks, monetisation of network’s APIs, mobile cloud computing and IoT/M2M. In addition, Mr. Pațachia-Sultănoiu is coordinating Orange Educational Program, Innovation Labs and several Horizon 2020 research and innovation projects on various topics such as next generation emergency services and critical infrastructure security.

Cornel has 16 years of experience in enterprise computing and data management solutions. Cornel is primarily focused on virtualisation, cloud computing and data protection. With a deep knowledge on virtualization, Cornel helped partners and customers to transition to the cloud, while achiving better efficiency and minimizing risks. In the past, Cornel had worked as a Proffesional Services Engineer, as VMware trainer and Systems Engineer, educating and helping customers to tackle challenges and adopt inovative solutions to solve problems. Cornel is curentlly Veeam Systems Engineer, responsable for South East Europe. He holds several industry certifications, including VCP, VCAP, MCSE, NCDA, EMCTA and others.
Dave for many years has enjoyed playing in what is today called the Internet of Things (IoT). Connecting up “Things” is not new or novel but the approach taken and emerging technologies enable a vast range of new and innovative uses.
Pre IoT projects worked on over the last 20 years include connecting up pipelines in deserts, the first pay as you drive insurance scheme and an early pay per mile city car project. A key driver for business is the knowledge that IoT is an evolution and not a revolution.
Dave is an evangelist for IoT both in business helping build IBMs IoT ecosystem and applying lessons learnt over the last 20 years but also enjoys using it for fun outside of the office both at home and for education. Dave is passionate about the use open technology, a key driver for IoT be it open standards or open source. He has worked on a number of open source projects and standards with a heavy focus on MQTT a fast emerging protocol for connecting “Things”.Leading up or rather down to working on tiny things at the edge of the network.
In a previous incarnation Dave has worked on mainframe, mid range and pc based compute platforms, including transaction processing and messaging systems that drive many of todays financial systems. Even though a sensor and a mainframe are vastly different, lessons have been learnt and are being applied to IoT. Core to these being data is king.
Ovidiu is 41 years old and graduated the Academy of Economic Studies, Faculty of Cybernetics in Bucharest.
From 2006 in Microsoft, Ovidiu is responsible for the Microsoft management, virtualization and security solutions from System Center and Forefront family. In his focus are also Microsoft Virtualization Solutions (Hyper-V, APP-V, VDI and RDS), Windows Server and Windows Client platforms, Microsoft PKI solution – Certificate Services and the optimization technologies from the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP).
For the last 18 years Ovidiu worked as IT Department lead at Banca Nationala a Romaniei – Giurgiu branch; System Engineer at GeCAD– working directly with the actual Microsoft antivirus solution and Security Engineer at UTI Systems – specialized in security and PKI solutions.
Vlad Arsene is a R&D Project Manager at ETA2U with the main role of developing the IoT business line within the company. His activities span from strategy, partnerships and building projects to business analysis and system architectures for projects with significant technological innovation components.
After graduating Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Transilvania University in Brasov, Vlad Arsene has worked as an ICT consultant and project manager, mostly, involved in international R&D and innovation projects. Moreover, he has experience in European research funding having been involved in several FP7 and Horizon 2020 projects.
Filip has 20 years of experience in providing business solution such as ERM, CRM, BI and handling complex projects in manufacturing and distribution. He joined Crescendo in 2003 as Senior Account Manager, followed by Business Unit Manager - Enterprise Resource Management and Sales Manager position, while supporting many different market segments in the field sales group. Starting this year, Filip is focusing his efforts from the Strategic Programs Manager position within Crescendo. In this current role supports new strategic directions of the company, having the point of convergence on Cloud and Mobility / IoT / BI solutions.
He embraced the new position by taking into consideration the continuuous and significant changes in the technology market and he is dedicating his actions in helping partners and customers by tackle challenges and adopt inovative solutions area to resolve their needs, while achiving better efficiency and minimizing risks for their businesses.
