When LCHA is Configured

 
  Before You Begin    
    Step 1   FTP the Cisco IOS-XE Release 3.18.0S image to the bootflash of both Supervisors on the Cisco cBR router using the copy ftp:// command.  
    Step 2 Verify files with the known md5 hash using the verify /md5 command.  
    Step 3 Expand the IOS binary image file to a specific image directory in the bootflash using the request platform software package expand file command. This will take five minutes.  
    Step 4 Verify if the sub-packages and helper files are created in the directory using the dir bootflash:/ and dir stby-bootflash:/ commands.  
  Image Upgrade Procedure  
    Step 1 Set the boot variable to the sub-package directory .conf file path.

    Step 2 Verify whether the bootvar is set to the new sub-package mode .conf file using the show bootvar command.  
    Step 3 Reload the chassis using the reload command.  
    Step 4 After the system boots up, verify whether the running version of IOS-XE is correct using the show redundancy command.  
  Module Replacement Procedure  
    Step 1 Replace upstream D3.0 PHY module with upstream D3.1 PHY module on the Secondary line card.  
    Step 2 After the Secondary line card is online, verify whether the version of the control FPGA is displayed as 00020009 using the show platform diag command.  
    Step 3 Verify whether the RF line card redundancy status and Secondary RF line card is in protect mode using the show redundancy line all command. Wait until the protect card status is displayed as "standby" to ensure that the protect card is ready.  
    Step 4 Remove the Primary RF line card that needs upstream PHY module upgrade from the chassis. Line card switchover is triggered and the Secondary RF line card is active now.  
    Step 5 Replace upstream D3.0 PHY module with upstream D3.1 PHY module on the Primary RF line card and then install the primary RF line card in the chassis.  
    Step 6 After the replaced Primary RF line card comes online, verify whether the version of the control FPGA is displayed as 00020009 using the show platform diag command.  
    Step 7 Verify whether the RF line card redundancy status using the show redundancy line all command.   
    Step 8 When the LCHA is ready, manually trigger RF line card switchover to make the primary RF line card active.  
    Step 9 Repeat the module replacement procedure for all the remaining Primary RF line cards.

Verify whether the PID of the upstream PHY module on the upgraded RF line card is displayed as CBR-D31-US-MOD using the show diag slot slot_number eeprom details command on the Supervisor. All RF line cards in the chassis must have upstream D3.1 PHY modules.
