The Future of IoT and intelligent Applications
Date: 11 October 2017 | Time: 14:00 - 15:00
Description: Machine learning and deep learning applications are revolutionizing how we as consumers interact with our compute devices by imbuing them with speech recognition, machine vision, and other perceptual capabilities. We are now seeing new advancements in AI which move from simple pattern recognition and sensory data processing to much deeper semantic processing. These new advancements in essence bridge the gap between machine learning techniques, including commoditized deep learning on SIMD GPUs , and the next generation of specialized distributed-memory MIMD hardware for large-scale graph analysis for symbolic artificial intelligence. In this session we will cover the new capabilities and use cases Cisco is targeting with this new breakthrough technology. In addition, we will discuss the core enabling technical building blocks and projects such as Ben Goertzel’s OpenCog project.
Speaker: Enzo Fenoglio
Enzo Fenoglio is a data scientist with Cisco Systems France working in the Chief Technology & Architecture Office (CTAO) for the Paris Research and Innovation Lab (PIRL) since 2013. Enzo holds a MS in Engineering Physics from the Polytechnic of Turin and has 30+ years of experience in the high-tech industry to deploy algorithms to enable specific business applications in different domains (Avionics, DSP, CV, DTV, NLP, Networking), countries (Italy, UK, US, France), and companies (Alenia Aerospace, Olivetti, Ferrari Race Team, STMicroelectronics, OpenTV, Sky Italia, NDS, Cisco). His main areas of research interest are AI/ML/DL/AGI besides HPC-GPGPU. Enzo is a member of the ACM and has 20+ filed patents on ML/DL.
Cisco will highlight its GPU-accelerated data center with demos showing virtual workstations running on the Cisco UCS and Cisco HyperFlex Systems as well as solutions for accelerated analytics and apps, and deep learning.
Demo Pods:
1 – GPU-Accelerated Virtual Desktops & Apps
See GPU-accelerated Windows 10 virtual desktops run side by side with non-GPU accelerated virtual desktops on Cisco UCS servers. Find out from our technical experts which NVIDIA GPU to use on Cisco infrastructure to achieve the highest user density and best performance for your use case.
2 –Quadro® Virtual DC Workstations
We will also host our partner ebb3 in our stand. They will be demonstrating their innovation in virtualization for 3D software applications, High Performance Virtual Computing (HPVC).
The HPVC enables the power of a high specification graphics workstation to be accessed on-demand, anywhere from any type of device, for an unlimited number of users. While demonstrating the HPVC in the Cisco stand, it will actually be running 600 miles (as the crow flies) away on Cisco UCS infrastructure, while enabling impeccable application delivery to Munich.
3 – GPU-Accelerated Computing
At this pod learn from our experts how you can leverage Cisco’s GPU Accelerated Data Center for AI - deep learning and accelerated analytics
