Este documento estudia una red VoIP con una topología de dos zonas manejada por dos Cisco Gatekeepers con una Cisco Gateway en cada zona. El objetivo de este documento es suministrar una configuración básica que permita al usuario evitar algunos problemas conocidos y crear una base confiable para la red orientada a Gatekeeper. Este documento comprende información técnica previa sobre las funciones configuradas, pautas de diseño y estrategias básicas de verificación y resolución de problemas.
Es importante tomar en cuenta que, en la configuración a continuación, los cuatro routers están ubicados en la misma LAN. No obstante, en su topología real todos los dispositivos pueden estar en diferentes partes de la red.

La información que se presenta en este documento se originó a partir de dispositivos dentro de un ambiente de laboratorio específico. Hay varias condiciones que se encontrarán antes de que el gateway pueda conseguir el address resolution correcto del portero.
Hay dos puntos importantes que se verificarán, como sigue:
Todos los gatewayes se deben registrar a los porteros correspondientes.
Todos los porteros deben tener el plan de marcación correcto.
El registro exitoso es el primer paso obligatorio. Estos factores adicionales deben ser tenidos en cuenta:
Si el gateway tiene interfaces de la Estación de intercambio remota (FXS), después en el dial-peers del Servicio telefónico sencillo antiguo (POTS), agregue el comando no register e164. Esto evita el problema con el registro de gateway descrito en el Id. de bug Cisco CSCdw60626 (clientes registrados solamente). En vez del puerto directo FXS el registro con e164 numera, es posible agregar un prefijo de zona para el gateway y basar las decisiones de ruteo en los prefijos de zona.
Generalmente, es preferible definir un prefijo de tecnología para el gateway. Aunque la presencia de los prefijos de tecnología afecte predominante al ruteo de llamadas, es también deseable para el registro confiable.

Para el ruteo de llamadas confiable, todos los gatewayes se deben registrar con un cierto prefijo de tecnología. El propósito del prefijo de tecnología es distinguir entre diversos tipos de tipos de las llamadas y de la correspondencia de gatewayes. Así pues, aunque sea posible utilizar el prefijo de tecnología para las decisiones de ruteo, la mejor práctica es utilizar el prefijo de tecnología para distinguir el tipo de llamada y de ruta basadas en los prefijos de zona. Con este acercamiento, todos los gatewayes de VoIP se pueden configurar con el mismo prefijo de tecnología (por ejemplo 1#*, según lo en el ejemplo presentado en este documento).
Es preferible configurar explícitamente el gateway principal para el prefijo de zona.
Ate H.323 que señala a una dirección IP específica en el Cisco IOS Gateway o el router. Cuando el Cisco IOS Gateway tiene interfaces IP activas múltiples, algunos de los mensajes de H.323 pueden ser originados a partir de un IP Address, y de otras partes de que puede referirse a una diversa dirección de origen. El comando h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr es necesario si el Loopback Interface se utiliza para identificar el gateway, o hay un Firewall y servidores de contabilidad en la red. Este comando fue introducido en el Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1.2T y se documenta en configurar el Soporte H.323 para interfaces virtuales.

Para resolver problemas, marque varias puntas vitales:
Todos los gatewayes deben ser registrados con los porteros correspondientes.
