Through its participation in Egypt’s Third Annual CSR Conference Cisco Announces its “Global Problem Solver Challenge”

Cisco, the leading company in ICT field, announced its participation in Egypt's 3rd CSR 2017, held on May 8 -9th to unite government and private sectors’ efforts with civil society organizations.

Believing in the company’s role towards the Egyptian society, Cisco’s participation affirms its leadership in societal responsibility projects. During the forum, Eng. Ayman Elgohary, General Manager of Cisco Egypt, participated with a keynote address in which he discussed the positive and influential role of Cisco Egypt in achieving development through CSR.

Elgohary stressed in his speech Cisco’s leading role in CSR, especially training and education projects. The volume of investment since the establishment of Cisco Networking Academy in 1999 until now has reached more than USD 23 million, with a number of graduates reaching 81 thousand graduates, 34% of them are women. These graduates achieved the goal of becoming a true nucleus for the ICT workforce in both the local and regional markets.

During his speech, Elgoharyannounced cooperation between Cisco, the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology (MCIT), the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in addition to UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support societal development projects in cooperation with the civil society and the private sector.

Cisco Egypt’s GM also reviewed the "Global Problem Solver Challenge”, which allows applicants, whether students or recent graduates, globally to compete for obtaining the first five places through which Cisco will grant 10 awards worth USD 300 thousand.  The deadline for handing in applications is May 30th through the website.
