Cisco to Highlight the Urgency for Digital Transformation in order for Middle East Organizations to Improve Operational Efficiencies at IoTX 2015

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates—17 May 2015 – Cisco will showcase its world-class technology solutions and offerings designed to help Middle Eastern public and private sector organizations leverage digital transformation in order to embrace the Internet of Everything (IoE) to transform their business models at the Internet of Things Expo 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Internet of Things (IoT), the networked connection of devices where we are today, is the foundation for next wave of the internet – the Internet of Everything (IoE)—which we are already witnessing. The Internet of Everything (IoE) will bring people, processes, data and things together seamlessly through intelligent networked connections resulting in new customer and citizen experiences, improved operational efficiencies, breakthrough innovations and entirely new economic models for services and growth.

Cisco, a lead Sponsor at IoTX on June 8–9 2015, will highlight the impact the Internet of Everything (IoE) is already having in the Middle East region and how it is contributing to Dubai’s Smart City transformation in the build-up to hosting World Expo 2020 and beyond. Keynote speakers from Cisco will include Rabih Dabboussi, General Manager, Cisco UAE, and Shukri Eid, Director Cisco Consulting Services, Middle East, Africa and Russia, CIS.

At Cisco’s IoTX booth (#IoT-4), video content and a live city display will be utilized to demonstrate various ‘real life’ Smart City scenarios including Smart Energy, Smart Transportation, Smart Parking, Retail, Healthcare and Remote Diagnostics. Imagine no more traffic jams, never having to search for a parking space, no more flight delays, having intelligent transportation for emergency services, and ensuring a better environment for our next generation of leaders – that’s what a Smart City will deliver.

“In order for Middle East organizations, cities and communities to fully embrace the IoT today and the IoE of the future, institutions will need to become digitized. Becoming a digital business requires an agile IT model, and the ability to rethink core processes for the digital era. Embracing new security, cloud, mobile, social and analytics technologies required to fully digitize takes imagination, investment and expertise, “commented Rabih Dabboussi, General Manager of Cisco in the UAE.

“Dubai is the perfect location for the inaugural Internet of Things Expo 2015 as the City has already made major strides in delivering the Smart City Vision as laid out by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed which can be showcased and provide a template for Smart City initiatives throughout the region. As the shift toward digitization accelerates, the IoE has the potential to further accelerate the Middle East region’s pace of change,” Dabboussi concluded.
