Cisco-Fudan-Stanford Supply Chain Leadership Institute

Created in collaboration with Cisco, Fudan University, and Stanford University, the Cisco-Fudan-Stanford (CFS) Supply Chain Leadership Institute will be launched at Fudan University in Shanghai and offered at different locations within China in the future. This institute is the first program of the Cisco Supply Chain Leadership Institute Initiative.

What will you learn?

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Apply various supply-chain strategies using AAA Supply Chain Principles; set and implement various strategies.
  • Identify best practices in supply-chain operations with respect to information systems, supply-demand matching, collaborative planning and forecasting, inventory control, and supply-chain risk management.
  • Use best practices for logistics (product flow) including information flow, distribution strategies, transportation flow management, and global trade processes.
  • Work more effectively with trading partners and better understand customs processes, financial arrangements, etc.
  • Identify how new product design affects supply chains and use best practices for collaborative design and product introduction.
  • Apply partnership and change management best practices relating to suppliers, customers, and organizations (such as collaborative planning, building trusting relationships, performance measures, risk sharing, gain sharing, incentives, motivation, leadership skills, organizational behaviors and long-term relationships, leading change, and cross-functional collaboration).
  • Discussion of the characteristics of the Chinese supply-chain infrastructure, including manufacturing and distribution infrastructures, infrastructure development, government regulations, support, WTO trends, port logistics, and cultural issues.
  • Understand the special issues of emerging countries, such as social responsibility, environmental sustainability, financing constraints, development of new economies, increasing supply-chain risks and security concerns.
