Bias-Free Language

The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. For the purposes of this documentation set, bias-free is defined as language that does not imply discrimination based on age, disability, gender, racial identity, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and intersectionality. Exceptions may be present in the documentation due to language that is hardcoded in the user interfaces of the product software, language used based on RFP documentation, or language that is used by a referenced third-party product. Monitoring Clients

Monitoring Clients

Choose Monitoring > Wireless > Clients to view information about the clients connected to the device. Click the client in the table to view properties and statistics for each client.

ClosedClients

The Clients tab lists the clients that use the protocol or authentication method.

Parameter Description
Client MAC Address The MAC address of the client.
IPv4 Address The IPv4 address of the client.
IPv6 Address The IPv6 address of the client.
AP Name The name of the access point to which the client is connected.
SSID The service set identifier of the client.
WLAN ID The WLAN associated with the client.
Client Type The client type. Click the arrow next to Client Type and select one of the values from the drop-down list. The values are WLAN, WLAN (WGB), WLAN (WGB Wired), RLAN, and GLAN. The filtered list is displayed.
State The client authentication.
Protocol The protocol used.
User Name The user name associated with the connected client.
Device Type The device type associated with the connected client.
Role The client-role.

Click the Client MAC address in the table to view statistical data of the client in the following sections:

  • 360 View
  • General
  • QOS Statistics
  • ATF Statistics
  • Mobility History
  • Call Statistics

Click icon to export to excel.

In the Export to Excel window, select one of the following options, and click Yes:

  • Export Current Page
  • Export All Pages (This may take some time)
Closed360 View

To get a 360 view of the client, click 360 View.

Parameter Description
MAC Address The MAC address of the client.
Uptime The uptime of a client in seconds.
WLAN Name The name of the WLAN.
AP Name The name of the AP.
Device Type The name and the type of device.
Software Version (Carrier Code) The software version with the carrier code.
Device OS The operating system of the device.
Client Performance The performance of the client.
Capabilities The capabilities of the client.
Fabric Status The status of fabric profile.
Last Disconnect Reason The reason for the last disconnect.

The Client Scan Reports section displays the scan report details run on the client. The details include the BSSID, the Channel, and RSSI(dBm).

ClosedGeneral

To view the client properties, AP properties, security information, client statistics, QOS properties, and EoGRE, click General.

Note: You can view the Work Group Bridge Details in the Client Properties tab. For more information, refer to the Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controller Software Configuration Guide, Cisco IOS XE Bengaluru 17.4.x.

Note: In the Client Statistics tab, you can view the IP address and zone ID mapping for the respective client.

ClosedQOS Statistics

To view the service policy input and output, click QOS Statistics.

ClosedATF Statistics

To view the airtime fairness statistics, click ATF Statistics.

ClosedMobility History

To view the recent association history, such as, AP Name, BSSID, AP slot, Assoc Time, Mobility Role, Run Latency, and Roam Type, click Mobility History.

ClosedCall Statistics

To view the call statistics, click Call Statistics.

ClosedSleeping Clients

The Sleeping Clients tab helps you to configure the duration for which the sleeping clients are to be remembered before re-authentication becomes necessary.

Parameter Description
Client MAC Address The MAC address of the client.
Remaining Time The time that remains before the sleeping client must be authenticated again.
ClosedExcluded Clients

The Excluded Clients page allows you to configure the clients that need to be excluded, giving a reason for exclusion and the time remaining before re-authentication becomes necessary.

Parameter Description
Client MAC Address The MAC address of the workgroup bridge client.
IP Address The IP address of the client.
AP Name The name of the access point to which the workgroup bridge client is connected.
WLAN ID The WLAN associated with the client.

Authenticaton Method

 The authentication method for the client.

Protocol

The protocol applied.
Exclusion Reason The reason as to why the client was excluded.
Time Remaining The time that remains before the excluded client must be authenticated again.

Excluded Clients

  1. In the Excluded Clients tab, click Add.
  2. Add the MAC Address and the Description.
  3. Click Apply to Device.
