Configuring Global Parameters
Global parameters consists of voice, video, and other quality of service (QoS) parameters designed to provide preferential wireless channel access on the radio.
On the > > page you can configure global network parameters such as EDCA parameters, DFS , and 11ax parameters.
Click 6 GHz Band, 5 GHz Band, or 2.4 GHz Band based on the radio for which you want to configure network parameters.
Before you begin:
You cannot configure or modify parameters if the radio network is enabled. Disable the network status on the Configuration > Radio Configurations > Network page before you proceed.

In the EDCA Parameters section, configure the following:

From the EDCA Profile drop-down list, choose an EDCA profile.

Enable Client Load Based Configuration to reduce collisions by dynamically changing EDCA parameters of clients based on the active client and load. It is enabled by default.

In the DFS (802.11h) section, configure the following:
Note: This setting is available for the 5 GHz Band radio only.

Enter the power constraint value for 802.11a/n/ac (5 GHz) to limit the transmit power in dBm. The value must be in the range of 0 to 30.
Note: You cannot configure power constraint if the DPTC Support check box on the > > page is selected.

Select the check box to enable announcement for channel switch status.

From the Channel Switch Announcement Mode drop-down list, select one of the following methods of announcement:

Loud: Enables the 802.11h channel switch announcement in the loud mode. The 802.11h-enabled clients can send packets while switching channel.

Quiet: Enables 802.11h-enabled clients to stop transmitting packets immediately because the AP has detected radar interference.

The Smart DFS check box enables non occupancy time doubling for radar interference channel. It is enabled by default.
Note: This setting is available for the 5 GHz Band radio only.

In the 11ax Parameters section, configure the following:

Select the Target Wakeup Time check box to enable an AP to manage activity in the Wi-Fi network. The AP manages activity by minimizing medium contention between Stations (STAs), and reducing the required amount of time that an STA in the power-save mode needs to be awake.

Select the Target Wakeup Time Broadcast check box to enable broadcasting of target wakeup time.

Select the Multiple Bssid check box to enable multiple basic SSID (BSSID).
Note: This setting is available for the 6 GHz Band radio only.

Select the BSS Colour check box to allows devices operating in the same frequency space to quickly distinguish between packets from their own basic service set (BSS) and packets from an Overlapping BSS (OBSS), by simply looking at the BSS color value contained in the HE PHY header.

Select the OBSS PD check box to enable Overlapping Basic Service Set Preamble Detection (OBSS PD). OBSS PD is a more aggressive Wi-Fi packet detect threshold for inter-BSS packets, which can be higher than the typical/legacy -82 dBm.
Note:
- This setting is available for the 5 GHz Band and 2.4 GHz Band radio only.
- For the 6 GHz Band radio, this setting is available as part of the default profile only.

In the Non-SRG OBSS PD Max Threshold (dBm) field, enter the threshold value for inter-BSS transmission in dBm. The value must be in the range of -82 and -62. The default value is -62 dBm.

- This setting is available for the 5 GHz Band and 2.4 GHz Band radio only.
- For the 6 GHz Band radio, this setting is available as part of the default profile only.

Select the SRG OBSS PD check box to enable Spatial Reuse Groups for OBSS PD.
In OBSS-PD based Spatial Reuse, a Wi-Fi 6 or 802.11ax device can transmit over an inter-BSS packet with an RSSI that is below the OBSS-PD threshold instead of deferring. This improves throughput and network efficiency by increasing transmitting opportunities.

- This setting is available for the 5 GHz Band and 2.4 GHz Band radio only.
- For the 6 GHz Band radio, this setting is available as part of the default profile only.

Enter the minimum and maximum SRG OBSS PD threshold value in dBm. The value must be in the range of -82 to -62. The default is -62.

- For the 6 GHz Band radio, this setting is available as part of the default profile only.
